Adora felt like her body was on fire as she ran, her lungs straining as she pushed on.
She felt like she'd never run so hard in her life, and as she skidded around one of the silver ships winding turns, she thought she might just collapse, and she was partially right with her assumption.
The next thing she knew, she had crashed to the floor in a heap of black and red leather. She groans at the impact and slowly lifts herself up, eyes scrunched shut as she sits up on her knees with a hand to her head.
That's when she feels the soft flicker of fur brush over her arm and the smell of cinnamon surrounding her. The familiarity hits and her eyes snap open as she gasps, scrambling to her feet, fists readied.
"Catra? What are you doing here?"
She hisses, breath still sharp. She's in utter shock, why was Catra on Horde Primes ship of all places? She didn't have time to deal with this fight when she had all of god damn Etheria to save.
She looks behind her quickly to check for guards before looking back to her enemy. But when she finally focuses on the feline girl, she realises that she's not getting up. She just kneels on the ground with shiny eyes, helmet on the cold steel floor by her side and clothes ripped from a previous fight. Her face is filled with a mix of releif and exhaustion, the pain and heartbreak striking through her expression like nothing Adora's seen before.
"Catra?"
She asks hesitantly, guilt edging it's way into her chest as her fists lower slightly.
"Hey Adora."
She responds, but her voice holds none of it's usual malice, this time it's laced with hurt, breaking, almost a whisper. She then stands with a shaky breath and practically falls into Adora, her arms wrapping tightly around her neck with a sob, leaning most of her weight on her and heaving into her shoulder.

For some reason, the blonde let's her.

After a second, Adora let's her own arms slip around Catra's waist, and slowly they sink to the floor, sitting in a messy embrace. Adora lifts a hand to brush through the messy locks of Catra's hair as she cries silently into Adora's jacket,
"I'm here."
She whispers, though she doesn't really know why. Catra could turn around and kill her then and there, but for some reason she hasn't yet, and it makes Adora pull her in tighter, tears stinging her own eyes as she breathes in the comforting presence.
It'd been only a few weeks since they'd last met, but since they last hugged? Adora couldn't count the months.
"I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry."
Catra sobs, muffled in Adora's neck , said girl starting to cry just as hard into her enemy's hair, emotions running through her as all of the memories she's held back flood to the surface.
"I know."

And she really did.
