Naruto sat at the booth, eyes watching Sasuke take orders from other patrons. Sasuke caught Naruto's gaze and he turned to hide his face in his shirt, out of the corner of his eye he saw Sasuke smirk and walk off with the girls' orders. Naruto sighed, feeling that pang of jealousy again.
'Ugh, why can't I just get over it already!' He thought to himself.
"Well, you going to order yet?"
Naruto looked up and Sasuke was standing there smirking with a notepad in hand.
"Uhm, sure..." Naruto dragged on his words, a smile creeping onto his face the longer he looked at Sasuke.
"So... Usual then..?" Sasuke let out an awkward chuckle.
"Oh, Yeah! Sorry..!"
Sasuke just gave Naruto an odd yet happy expression, walking back to get him his coffee.
Naruto got up and followed, leaning on the front counter, "When's your break again?"
"Whenever Itachi gets his ass back down here." Sasuke tapped his finger against the table, a habit he's developed for dealing with annoying customers. Stopped him from losing his temper on multiple occasions, serving homophobic assholes.
That was a little secret only Naruto knew about. Besides knowing all of Sasuke's subtle ticks and bad habits, he's also the only one Sasuke trusts enough to share secrets with, and one of those such secrets is that Sasuke's gay. Not even Itachi knows, but then again, those two have drifted apart a bit since Itachi decided to go to college.
Naruto could hear a girl and her friend gossiping behind him, probably talking about Sasuke... like always... When he focused his attention back to his friend, the cup of coffee was being set down infront of him.
"Spacing out again? What do you even think about? I can't imagine you have much going on." Sasuke turned around and continued brewing coffee for other customers, wrapping pastries in fancy folds before setting them on small plates to serve.
"I do! ...Have... things going on..." Naruto defended.
"Right, go sit down. Take your drink and I'll be there when I can." His voice sounded slightly playful so Naruto figured he must've been smiling, he couldn't say for sure because Sasuke was too busy to look at him.
Naruto did as Sasuke said and went back to the booth, sipping his mocha and trying not to burn his tongue.
Itachi ran through the front doors 20 minutes late with Shisui right behind him, both out of breath and drawing a lot of attention.
Sasuke marched over to him and mumbled, "About time you got here Nii-san! Get your shit together so I can take my break already."
"That's no way to talk to your elder brother Sasuke." Itachi responded through his breaths, rubbing Sasuke's head and messing up his hair.
"Tch." Sasuke crossed his arms and continued taking orders until Itachi and Shisui were ready.
"Hey, mom! I'm going out with Naruto now, I'll be back by 9:00 or 10:00 alright!"
Naruto barely heard her yell something back from the kitchen as Sasuke spun around, throwing his apron on the back counter and grabbing a black coffee for himself.
"Alright, c'mon Naruto." He waved, walking out the front door.
Naruto noticed all the girls from before staring at him, glaring and whispering as he and Sasuke left the building.
Sasuke pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked through a few messages while they walked down the street.
"So, where are we going today?" Naruto finally asked, looking over at Sasuke's screen.
He stopped drinking his coffee but kept his eyes on the phone, "I don't know, figured we'd just wander around and eventually find something to do like usual." He paused and a big truck went by, "If you wanted I could text Hinata and Shino, or maybe Shikamaru's group and tell them to meet us somewhere."
"Sure, as long as Kiba isn't there."
"You know I'm not talking to him anymore."
"Yeah, sorry for mentioning it..." Naruto looked back at where he was going, "I have an idea, just text whoever, make a group chat or something and let anyone who wants to join us, join. Ya' know?"
Sasuke didn't respond but Naruto saw him open a new chat.
They kept walking and before long Sasuke's phone was dinging with messages, vibrating for a minute straight in his hand.
"Well, I guess we'll have a few..." Sasuke said sarcastically, watching the messages fly past his screen too fast to read.
"Where're we meeting then?"
"Back at my place, has the most room and no one else will be home."
Naruto nodded, smirking as his mind wandered and immediately reprimanding himself for it.
Sasuke's house wasn't too far away, lucky them because there's no doubt people will show up immediately.
When they turned onto his street they could already see Sakura waving from outside his house, Sasuke cringing slightly, yet another subtle thing that only Naruto could see.
"If you don't like her, why did you invite her?" Naruto mumbled.
"She's your friend, right? So really that makes her mine at this point..."
"Yeah, I mean... Technically she is but~..." He clenched his teeth as he let that last word fall to the wind.
Sasuke sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, putting on a fake smile as Sakura ran over to them, "H-Hey! Sakura..."
"Sasuke-Kun~! I'm so happy you invited me over!" She wrapped him in a hug, then clung to his arm for attention, or really anything to make her feel like he might actually love her.
Sasuke looked at Naruto as if pleading with just his eyes, waiting for Naruto to do something about this situation.
"Hey, Sakura-chan? Don't you still owe me a favor?"
"Uhm... No? Actually, you owe me a favor!" She snapped, walking closer to get in his face about it.
Naruto immediately regretted his decision, but that's just what always ended up happening... His stupid crush on Sasuke has him doing anything that raven asks.
'Shit...' Naruto thought as Sakura started ranting about all the times she's done favors for him. Sasuke gestured an 'OK' with his hand as a thank you for taking the hit on this one.
He jumped up the front steps and pulled his house key from his pocket, unlocking the door and letting them in.
