I felt the wind screaming past my ears. I forced my eyes open and they immediately started watering. I looked and saw Kira was curled into Lincoln's arms. I saw that Lincoln was staring straight down at the ground. His face was calm and determined.
Then all of a sudden he stuck his hand out and I felt a cushion of air slow us down before we hit the ground. Lincoln let go and I stood up and looked up. I watched as the building exploded from the top down. I felt the heat of the explosion. It reached the bottom and I shielded Lincoln and Kira from the explosion with the crystal force.
I felt Lincoln and Kira join me. The force of the explosion went around us. When When it stopped I let go and felt myself stumble. I had exerted myself twice. Lincoln and Kira came to my side.
I felt Lincoln's hand rest on my shoulder.
"You did well Skye. We need to go now though." Lincoln says.
I nod, then Lincoln, Kira, and I head back towards where we left Efren and Theo/ When we got back there Efren and Theo came out from behind a building.
"Skye! You made it." Efren says.
"Of course I did. Did you have doubts?" I ask letting out a half laugh.
"No I didn't." Efren says smiling.
He looked over at Lincoln and Kira.
"Thank you." Efren says to both of them, but he was more talking to Lincoln.
Lincoln gives a short nod to Efren.
"No problem."Lincoln says.
Efren came over to me and gently placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Efren asks.
"I'm fine." I say before going into detail about what had happened.
Efren listened raptly. Lincoln came over after I finished telling Efren the story.
"Okay so the Big Brother part is done now we need to do the other part." Lincoln says.
"Right the other part." I say.
The other part was to find my friend.
"Do you have any idea where she would be?" Lincoln asks.
I rack my brains trying to think back to the type person she was, but my brain was still foggy from the exertion I took on twice. Efren seemed to recognize this.
"Skye why don't you take a seat here?" Efren asks.
I give a soft nod of thanks before sitting down. I hold my head in my hands and force myself to focus on my friend. I remember something and my eyes fly open.
"She like cantina's ." I say.
"Well any specific ones, because there are quite a few on planets like this." Efren says.
I nod.
"She always chose the ones that were more likely to have fancier things, but be quite cheap." I say.
Efren nods.
"There's one around here." Lincoln says.
"Then we should go there." I say.
Everyone nods. I hold out my hand and Theo helps me up. I stumble before leaning on him.
"Are you sure you're up to this Skye?" Efren asks.
"Yeah. Besides she knows me. She doesn't know you guys." I say.
Efren nods, then Lincoln leads the way. We follow him. When we reach the cantina we hear that it's really quiet.
"Well it's only early afternoon so, that's expected." Efren says.
We nod, then head in. It definitely wasn't the most stealthy way, because we walked in, but we were also a pretty intimidating group to look at. Lincoln was all dressed in black and he wasn't a small person, he was tall and muscular, he looked like a dark prince. Kira stood beside him and she looked like a dark queen. Efren wasn't as big as Lincoln, but he was tall with leaner muscles.
Theo was also a taller guy with big muscles. I was probably the least intimidating person in this group. I know I had lost a lot of weight. I looked exhausted and I was currently leaning on Theo. But I had the most power in this room.
It was also intimidating because Efren, Lincoln, Kira, and I all wore our crystals out where people could see them. Lincoln went to the bartender and gestured for me to come up. I did, and when I got there I had to lean on the table. I was fighting off sleep.
"We're looking for someone." I say.
"It's possible I know them. More probable I don't." The bartender says.
"Believe me. This one you know. I'm an old friend of hers and I need to talk to her."
"Who is she?" The bartender asks.
"When I knew her she went by the name Elira. Now, I believe she's known as Sandstorm." I say.
I see the bartender tense. I also saw him move for something. Apparently Lincoln did too, because when the bartender pulled out the blaster and aimed it at me Lincoln and I already had our swords pointed at his neck. One blue-green and one red-yellow. The bartender swallowed.
"Now where is she?" Lincoln growls.
I smile, but then I notice Lincoln had both of his swords out. One was pointed at the bartenders neck the other was out and held in front of me. I felt a great rise of appreciation towards Lincoln. He was protecting me.
"She's in the back." The bartender says.
"Thank you kindly." I say and sheathe my sword.
Lincoln hesitates for a bit before sheathing both of his. We head towards the back where there were a set of two brass doors. I opened one and was blasted with sound. I flinched before heading in followed by everyone else.
