Being yourself is one of the hardest things in life, actually. We live in a world where everyone is so judgmental that to not try to keep up with the social media buzz is pretty hard, right beside love and self-confidence.
Today I went to Walmart to get Duct Tape for my brother and a CD for myself. 1989 was the title. I wasn't alive in 1989 but according to Taylor Swift it was pretty cool. It came with these photos which were arranged as a Polaroid picture would. They had lyrics at the bottom of each one. There were about 15 or so of them. One of them said, "Bandaids can't fix bullet holes." Out of all the others, this stood out to me. I don't know why exactly, but it just did. Maybe it was because of how true it is. When you think about it, it's kinda like saying sorry. You can say sorry but you can't take back what you said or did.
I interpreted it as someone who knocks you down, brings you down so much, more than just a splinter or scrape, but so much that Bandaids can't bare.
Off topic, do you ever feel like a song explains you life? I get that way a lot. Kian Lawley once said that there's an Ed Sheeran song for every emotion. But as for me, I like the band 5 Seconds of Summer. People ask me why because I don't look like the type to be listening to punk rock music but believe it or not, I do. I don't know why exactly I like them they just make me happy. I forgot what day it was but on this day, the song "Amnesia" came out.
I was lying down in my pink and blue bed that night. It was maybe 10:30 at night here in Florida. The lyric video had come out a couple of hours earlier that day and it was all over Instagram. I watched the video and oh my gosh! Was it the best video ever? Absolutely. I'm not sure why exactly, but, man, was it great! I listened and watched about 8 times and cried every single time. I bought my first song on iTunes that night and began my obsession with 5SOS as well.
