Dolan Magee. Gryffindor. Quidditch captain. Head boy. Loved by all.
Harrison Pendrake. Slytherin. Manipulator. Feared by all.
Two boys, one school.
The two are basically destined to hate each other. They're polar opposites to say the least. But they can't avoid each other forever, especially since they butt heads so often. And that's exactly how they ended up here, trapped in detention together.
Harrison glared at the boy clad in red robes in front of him. "This is all your fault!" He whisper-yelled. "It's your fault I got busted and you bet you're gonna be sorry." Dolan turned his head to face the Snake, "If you hadn't been trying to look in the restricted section, then you wouldn't be here. Don't blame your mistakes on me." He turned back around facing the front and crossing his arms. Harrison grabbed the green scarf around his neck and threw it on the table, revealing a gnarly bruise. "Well you didn't have to fire a shot at my neck! You wouldn't be here either if you didn't pull that little stunt." Dolan rolled his eyes but didn't say anything in return. "Why don't we just leave this place? Nobody's even guarding this room." Harrison spoke out loud and Dolan once again whipped his head around, "Are you crazy? There may not be anyone here but if we leave and get busted, we'll be in the biggest trouble of our lives!" Harrison whined and slouched in his chair, "I'm bored!" He tapped his fingers against the desk. "Well I'm sure you can handle it since you've been in detention..how many years have you been here again?" Dolan asked, shooting Harrison the most condescending of looks. "Ha-ha." Harrison remarked, rolling his eyes. He gave Dolan a once over, sighing deeply. For a brief moment, he spoke calmly. "Why do I feel like I hate you so much?" Dolan scoffed, "maybe because you do hate me?" Harrison sat up straighter and shook his head, "No, I'm serious. It's not like you've done anything terrible to me, yet I still hate you..and I have no idea why." Dolan opened his mouth to speak but was also stumped. He thought hard for a moment but shrugged, "I...I don't know either. I guess it's just fate. I mean our houses are rivals so maybe that's why?" Even Dolan didn't seem to be sure of his own words. "That seems like a stupid reason.." Harrison muttered and Dolan shrugged, "yeah I guess it kinda does." There was silence for a moment then Dolan shivered, getting goosebumps. Harrison looked up and coughed awkwardly. "Are you cold? Do you want my scarf or something?" It was unusual for him to make a gesture like that so they were honestly both surprised. "Oh no that's okay I just-" "-Don't be silly. I don't need it so just take it. Here.." he stood up and walked over to the seat next to him. He grabbed the chair and pulled it closer. He took the green fabric and placed it gently around his neck. Dolan's cheeks tinted pink and he grabbed the ends of the scarf pulling it close around him. "Thank you." He said softly. Harrison nodded, "Green is a good color on you...you'd make a good Slytherin." Dolan laughed, "Me? A Slytherin? Never."
