“Will you be my girlfriend?”

I replayed the question in my head a few times. I mean, I knew it was coming, but I didn’t know it was coming this soon.

I looked at him and smiled, “Michael, we just met, we barely know each other…” He tried to speak but I just kept talking, “And before you know it you’ll be famous, and you won’t want to be dating someone like me.”

“Someone like you?” he said, “The only person I want to be with is someone like you.” I could hear the truth behind his words.

“Are you sure Michael? What if people don’t like us together?”

“Well,” he said, “Since when have I ever let other people’s opinions control the way I live my life? Think about it.”

“Well, I know that Michael, but still, I’ve been hurt before and I just can’t have that happen again…”

“Court,” he paused, and looked me straight in the eyes, he always made me feel so good. “I would never hurt you. I couldn’t even dream of it. Just give me a chance.”

I waited a minute and answered him. “Okay Michael, I’ll give you a chance.”

He got so excited. He didn’t even try to hold back his excitement. I guess that’s good; I wouldn’t want to be with someone who wasn’t excited to be with me.

“Well, my moms probably wondering what’s taking me so long” I said, reaching for the car door.

“Oh Shit” he said, almost in a panic, “I forgot we we’re at your house!” He covered his mouth with his adorable sweater paws. “Sorry” he said, looking at me with his huge, beautiful eyes.

We both laughed and he leaned over and kissed me on the cheek, and said goodnight. He’s so sweet.

I made my way towards the house and walked in, trying to hide my smile. Smiles were pretty rare around here, ever since my dad walked out on us last month.

“What are you so happy about?” My mom said, walking down the stairs.

“Oh it’s nothing,” it definitely wasn’t nothing, believe me, but I couldn’t tell her I was in a new relationship when hers just went down the drain no more than 4 weeks ago.

“I bet that boy who just dropped you off wouldn’t be saying it’s nothing,”

“Mom.” I said glaring at her, unintentionally. “We’re just friends”

“What’s his name?” she said, being nosy, as always.

“It’s Michael.” I said, already halfway up the stairs.

And then she started to sing. “Courtney and Michael sitting in a tree...”

Ugh. “Whatever mom!” I said, closing my bedroom door.

I plopped down on my bed and seconds later I got a text.

1 message: from Luke Hemmings

“OMG!!!!! YOU’RE DATING MICHAEL” followed by a million emojis.

“Yeah, he told you?”

“YES! I’M SO HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS!! I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN!”

He seemed so excited for me, which was very reassuring.

“Does Calum know?”

“YES! AND ASHTON TOO! WE’RE ALL SO HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS!”

“Really? That really means a lot Luke! Thank you so much!”

“No problem” he said, getting rid of all caps, “Michael’s the happiest I’ve seen him in a while! And you seem happy too!”

Really? I made someone happy for once in my life? I couldn’t even help but smile.

“Anyways,” Luke said, “I best be going, mum won’t let me stay up too late :/ night!”

I said goodnight to Luke and texted G the good news. After a 5 minutes wait she still hadn’t even read the message, so I’ll just assume that she’s probably asleep, seeing how she’s usually asleep by 10, and it’s now 12:37.

All I can say is that I can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store for me.
