"It's finally the first day of December, and you know what that means, Sof?" I ask in excitement, my hands reaching out to grab my younger sister's as we danced in the middle of our living room. Sofi squealed in delight at my behavior, knowing exactly what I was insinuating as she bounced on the balls of her feet.

"SANTA!" she sings aloud, eliciting a joyful laugh from my lips. I scrunch my nose and bend down to pick her up, holding her close to my body as I bound us both towards the kitchen. There, my mom stood with my dad, the both of them whipping up breakfast. It'd been surprisingly chilly in Miami for the past couple days, and normally I'd say that's really unusual, but I can't say I'm complaining. Cold weather is what doubles the Christmas fever.

"My sweet girls, can you please keep it down and set up the table?" my mom asks politely, an amused smile on her face as she watched my sister and I vibrate in excitement. This wasn't anything new, it was practically tradition to see how December made us feel. I, especially, had something else aside from Christmas that made me equally, if not more, excited.

My girlfriend, (Y/N), was supposed to be coming over later today. She was coming in all the way from California and was adamant to take the flight here, even though I persisted I could've made the trip over to her. It would've been worth it either way.

Flying across the country is not an easy thing to do, and I would know from the pressures of my career as a member of the world's biggest girl band. (Y/N) understood this but insisted she came here instead, which I couldn't find any faults to.

My whole family loved whenever she'd come over, her spirits carry so much optimism and her smile literally has this power to make everything seem bright. In a world so different and twisted, that's the sort of presence I knew I needed in my life. The luck I managed to pull when I met (Y/N) couldn't have been better timing.

Hours passed and now here I was, singing to a playlist of Christmas music with my whole family as I helped to clean the dirty dishes. "All I want for Christmas iiiiiiis," I sing out, pretending the soapy sponge in my hand was a microphone before an abrupt knock on the front door resonated throughout the house. "(Y/N)! I got it!"

Sofi, hearing the announcement that my girlfriend was possibly here, raced me to the front door. I had to let her claim victory. With a little sister who wants to always win at things, I can't not let her. It's the simple rule of being an older sister.

"Ha! I beat you," shouted Sofi, her fists pumping at her success before she turned the knob of the door and swung it open. In all her radiant glory stood (Y/N), wrapped in a bundle of warm clothes with her suitcase at her feet. The brown swirls in her eyes lit up as she crouched down, acknowledging the youngest Cabello. Sofi instinctively stretched out her arms to then feel herself become lifted in my girlfriend's arms.
