Audrey's POV

           Oh god, this is embarrassing.

        Get your shit together, Audrey.

        I sniff. "H-how?" I ask.

        "I don't know now, but I'll find a way."

She holds me for what seems like forever. She smells like vanilla.

        Damn it, Audrey, focus!

She lets go. I don't want her to. I sit down next to her, leaning on the wall of the van. "You okay?" she asks. God, I love her voice. It's husky but feminine at the same time. I nod. "For now, yeah." I say awkwardly. She smiles a little. "I'm Morgan." she says, extending her hand. "Audrey," I reply, shaking her hand.

Morgan looks at her phone and says we have five hours until we get there. I nod and stare off into space. We sit in silence.

"How 'bout we change the subject." Morgan says. I smile and nod in agreement.

We start to talk like we've known each other forever. She tells me about her life at home, and I tell her about Matthias and Finn. She tells me about her job at the prison and how much she hates it. I tell her about the many times I've escaped the hunters and my life living in the forest with my two best friends. I start to worry about them. Are they looking for me? Are they okay?

We keep talking for a couple of hours and I honestly can't tell if she's flirting with me or if she's just being overly friendly. She looks at her phone and sighs. I get a sinking sensation in my stomach. "We'll be there in five minutes." Morgan says. "I need to..."

"I know." I say shakily, standing up to make things easier for her. She pulls out rope and a cloth from her bag. Once she finishes tying me up and gagging me, I lay down on the floor and she stands in the corner with a guilty expression on her face. I feel the van stopping, and she quickly changes her expression to a serious one. The door flies open and her father grabs me and roughly pulls me out of the van. He starts carrying me away. The last thing I see before we enter the building is Morgan, in tears.
