Robins POV
He was racing down the stairs and toward the library. How could he have forgotten? He shook his head in slight disbelief that he had forgotten such a thing, and smiled as he had finally reached the end of the stairs.
Now all he had to do was find her.As he smoothly glided closer towards the library doors, he turned his head. Out of the darkness in the corridor, there was a shed of light coming from his right. It streamed across his face, causing his vision to blur.
He turned around and saw a figure standing at Benjamin's office door. It was Maria.
"Maria!" He whispered as he quietly walked over, trying to make no sound. But his great leather boots suggested otherwise and squeaked as he walked along.
"Shh!" Maria whispered quietly.
"What are you..?" Robin couldn't finish as Maria had clapped her hand around his mouth.
"Just listen" she commanded as she rolled her eyes and let him go.Maria and Robin we're surrounded by complete silence. Maria stared at the door, her head was tilted at an angle, and her eye was peeping through the gap. Robin joined her.
There was nothing to be heard or see, and soon robin began to loose his patience. He wanted to go and see if he could find Loveday to talk to her about his plans for the day.
Maria soon realised this and gently pulled him back to her.
Hushed whispers became louder, allowing Maria and Robin to hear. There eyes both staring at the light shining in through.
To their surprise, it was Uncle Benjamin sobbing." I don't know what to do. I haven't a clue of how many times that girl has asked me. But I do know for certain, that each time she has, I have always responded in the same way." Benjamin was pacing up and down his office and rubbing his hands down his face. Maria could see that he was stressed and she felt it was her fault.
"It's too hard keeping this secret from her, I feel constantly pressured and watched all the goddamn it! I wish to tell her. She must know." Benjamin said in a sorrowful tone.Maria's uncle had stopped pacing, he was beginning to steadily walk over to where she and robin were hiding. She desperately wanted to know what he was talking about.
They both looked at one another, Robin had slightly moved away and was beginning to pull Maria out of the way. Soon they heard Lovedays gentle voice interrupt him, and stood their position."Benjamin, my love, she has asked you twice don't be ever so dramatic." Loveday said with a childlike smile. Her finance looked at her smiled back.
"I know that it's a horrible thing to keep to onesself but behinaving the way you did towards her, is only going to make her feel even worse than she already does. I believe the best option to be is for us to keep this information to ourselves and once we know more, we can come back to this choice and perhaps speak of it once more."Maria saw her uncles face lighten up, he knew that Loveday was right and that she was nothing but perfect. Her words seemed to have soothed and reassured him entirely.
"As well my love," Loveday said as she moved closer to her fiancé, " All this absence from our friends and the unhappiness circling this manner, has lead me to believe that people would have seemed to forgotten that today is our Engagement party!" Her soon to be husband stared longing at her and kissed her on her cheek. Maria stared at them knowing they were to last.
"I knew it!" Maria exclaimed and she quickly wondered up a staircase. Robin, full of confusion, just followed his princess all the way to her room.
"Maria! Maria!" Robin said, chasing after his princess, " hold on. What do you know?whats going on?"
Maria stopped dead in her path, she turned her head and rolled her eyes.
"Were you listening to their conversation birdboy? Or was I the only one there?" Robin smiled as she giggled at him.
"Just come" Maria said and robin followed, she took his hand and he found himself in the middle of the garden.Robin looked around, full of confusion as to what was going on. Maria was pacing up and down the gravel path, shaking her head every now and then, and mumbling to herself. Maria felt a strong, yet gentle, grip on her should and was turned around.
"Robin..." she was cut of as he began to hug her.
"Princess, what ever is the matter?" He whispered in her ear. Maria could feel the warmth from robins body, making her feel loose and warm herself. She took in his embrace and felt her cheeks flood with heat. Maria had become embarrassed and Robin too could feel her cheeks flush. He pulled away from her, but still holding her,
"Maria Merryweather, I do believe you're blushing!" He said in such a tone of voice that made Maria quake and tremble."I most certainly am not!" She exclaimed, even though she knew he could see her. Both smiled at one another and soon, they found themselves walking around the garden.
"The other day, I asked my uncle if I was to be able to go back home, to London..." Maria explained. Robins faced dropped, his eyes become full of sadness and shook his head.
"Wait, what? Princess! You can't leave moonacre, you simply can't!" Robin butted in.Maria was shocked by the change of his tone voice, she knew he wouldn't understand and that is why she refrained from telling him so. But it was important.
