Twenty three year old, Officer Alex Walton rolled down his cruiser's window and listened to the sounds of the city. Clinton had always been his home and now, he was finally living his dream to protect and serve the people he had been around his whole life. It was a small town, with only a thousand people in it, but Alex never got tired of it. Crime was usually low, but the city had its moments.

Alex could hear kids laughing and the sound of a ball bouncing off of the concrete from the nearby basketball court. He had spent hours on that basketball court and made many memories, playing many friends.

"Dispatch to Lincoln-47."

Alex took a deep breath as he picked up his radio. It was time to go save the day again. "Lincoln--47, central, go ahead."
"Got a motorist assist on the highway at mile marker 94. Male is calling, saying his tire has blown out and he hit the barrier. Be advised, the caller sounds a bit 10-74. He's being very uncooperative with us and deflecting questions."

"10-4, central. I'll take care of it."

The dispatcher was his sister, Kiara. She was eighteen and shared his passion for law enforcement. She loved being able to help people over the phone while the first responders responded and helping the officers and other first responders with everything she could.

Alex could hear in her voice that she was concerned about this call and he knew better than to doubt his sister's gut feeling about someone. If she thought something was up with this caller, then something was up with him, which meant he was going to take every precaution dealing with him.

"Frank-26 to Lincoln-47, want a back?"

"Nah, I got it. I'll advise if things change."

The other officer was his best friend, Kyle McGee, who had grown up with him since elementary school. They always had each other's back, no matter what happened. Working the last year as officers had only strengthened their bond, bringing them closer as best friends.

A couple minutes later, Alex spotted the car and flipped on his lights, pulling behind the car. Before he even got out of the car, he did a head count. There was one man and a woman in the front seats of the car. He couldn't tell for sure, but it looked like they were fighting. He let Kiara know he was out with the car before he got out and walked to the passenger side of the car, away from the main highway.

As he approached the car, the woman jumped out and began screaming hysterically at Alex. She raised her hand towards him before Alex quickly grabbed her arm, pushed her against the car and handcuffed her.

"Lincoln-47, go ahead and send me another unit. Got a female detained. Male subject is still in the car." He spoke quickly into his radio.

"Frank-26, I'm already headed his way."

"You better let me go! Police brutality! Brutality!" The woman screamed at the top of her lungs.

Alex sighed, taking her back to his cruiser, while at the same time, keeping an eye on the male subject, who was staying inside the car. Once the female was in the cruiser, Alex returned the passenger window.

"Hey, man, what's going on?"
"She's crazy, officer! She grabbed the wheel and made us wreck! The tire's flat now because she ran over that glass! She's crazy!"

"Alright, alright, calm down!" Alex interrupted. "Why don't you get out of the car and then we can talk."

The man nodded and carefully opened the door. Alex watched him carefully as he walked around the front of the car towards him. His hands were deep in his pockets.
