'I love New York,' I said to Luke as we walked through the city together. It was our second week of college visits before we stayed at school for the final four months and cracked down on work, considering our final exams were only months away.
'Me too,' Luke said as he wrapped an arm around me. 'It's even better with you here too.'
We had gotten the Saturday off, as we had done our college visits throughout the work and had supervised study most nights by the teachers that were in New York with us.
Luke and I were currently walking around the city, Starbucks in hand as we just appreciated the time we had together.
'Love you,' I said with a giggle, standing on my toes and kissing his cheek, a smile appearing on Luke's face.
'Love you more,' he said squeezing my shoulders. 'What do you want to do now?'
'I'm happy just walking around.'
'No shopping?' Luke asked and I just shrugged my shoulders. 'Do you have a dress for everything that's coming up?'
I sighed at his words, knowing that pretty much every weekend until we graduated we had something on. Birthdays, graduation dinners, formal, homecoming and the list goes on.
'Probably not,' I said as we walked past Dior, one of my favourite stores. 'C'mon let's go inside,' I said with a laugh, Luke just shaking his head as he followed me inside so I could find a dress for Cara's birthday next Saturday night.
I ended up finding a dress pretty quickly before we headed back into the cold winter air, something that we are used to but still do not love.
'What are you doing tonight?' Luke asked and I shrugged my shoulders.
'Probably just going to finish my English essay and start reading the final book for our last assignment,' I said, as I knew that I wanted to get a head start on all my last assignments so I could focus on my exams. 'Why?'
'Do you want to come to dinner with me?' Luke asked. 'Super casual, there is a pizza place near where we are staying which looks cool and I thought that we could go there?'
'Yeah sure, I like the sound of that,' I said as we walked into our hotel lobby, heading up to the fifteenth floor that we were all staying on. 'I'll see you later then?' I asked when I reached my hotel room door.
'Sure gorgeous,' Luke said placing a soft kiss on my cheek. 'I love you.'
'I love you more,' I said with a smile before he walked off, leaving me standing outside my room with a giddy smile.
I sat down at the desk in my room to finish my English assignment, fiddling with the gold Cartier bracelet that Luke had gotten me for my birthday, something that I had not taken off since. It was simple yet so beautiful, I was almost surprised when Luke said that he picked it out all by himself.
I eventually finished my essay, sending the final draft to my English teacher to see if I needed to change anything, which I really hoped that I did not.
'Annabelle?' a voice said at my door, whom I instantly recognised as Eloise.
'Yeah come in El,' I said as I hopped onto the bed, grabbing the final English book that I would be reading for the school year, 'The Beautiful and Damned.'
