"Sold to the man in the white suit third row! Our next boy over here--" the man motioned to his lighting assistant.

The bright lights on the stage pop on yet again to show a pale, excited boy, his tail wagging at insane speeds.

"A rare breed he is. Yes, we only have a few werewolves up every year! As you can see his eye and hair color combo should be worth more than your regular run of the mill werewolf. Do we have a starting bid of 53k?"

And as usual the auction house went into silence....

"Everyone always looks at me with the same look of wonder and happiness so why?"

"Why what, Mao?"

"Why didnt they buy me?! I saw there was a girl in the seventh row looking like she was going to buy me! She was cute too!-- Oh! there was a guy in the second row who--!

"Seems like today just wasnt your day"

"Its never 'my day'! How come everyone else sells but I dont?! This isn't fair!"

"Look, we just need to find that one person that will be perfect for you. In the next town you should go out and converse with the locals and try to find that bond with someone. If you dont, then so be it. It will ultimately be their loss. Mao.... you are one of a kind... You are worth more than you think in the right person's eyes. Come on...let's get moving.."

Mao's ears drooped slightly, but quickly perked back up.

"Alrighty!"

Determination shined in his eyes.

No way in hell was he giving up yet.

"Heeeey~ Vinny--- how much longer?  I'm bored!" Mao whined while poking the auction manager's shoulder.

"We still have 9 hours Mao-- wait! How many times have I told you to not call me that?"

"Come onnn~ it's cute! What else am I supposed to call you anyway?"

"You aren't supposed to call me anything. We were only supposed to be together briefly but you just didnt sell! I'm just your manager and that's that."

"...."

"......"

"....How many years have we been together Vinny?"

"Mao--"

Vincent sighs angrily and slams his head into the steering wheel at a red light.

"Goddamn you are annoying."

Mao smiles happily as his tail starts to wag.

"Kehehe I know, but you put up with me anyway!~"

Mao's baby blue eyes dart to the car radio and back up to Vincent to see if he's watching.

Mao then swiftly turns on the radio of the car on at full blast.

The black haired boy happily sings to the songs that he put on with a bright smile that could blind Vincent.

As much as he hated to admit the cheery boy was quite good at singing.

"Primadonna girl~ yeah all I ever wanted was the worl-- OI! Vinny turn it back up you jerk!"

"I'm the driver I get to at least pick the volume of your music. You should feel blessed since i decided to be ever so nice to give you the auxiliary cord for the first 3 hours of this hellish drive."

"Come onnn~! I'll love you fooooreverr if you turn it up just this once Vinny~!"

A light blush forms on the manager's face.

"....Fine...just this once"

"Uwahh! I love youuuu Vinny!!"

"Yeah, yeah save that excitment for the auction tomorrow. We are going to showcase your voice as well so better save that too"

"So mean! That's just an excuse for me to stop talking!"

"Fuhaha!~ Come on we're going to stop to get food at the next exit"

"Keheheh! Okie dokie!"

Was their relationship odd? Yes. Do they ever disagree with each other? Yes. But do they ever regret meeting? No.

"Damn dog--why do you have to eat so much?"

Mao smirks, raises his hands to the brunette's face and wiggles his fingers.

"Would you rather me eat you Vinny~?"

Vincent does a spit take and just covers his face with his hands, though that didnt stop the ocean eyes boy from ripping them away to see his Vinny with a bright red flush on his face.

"Uwahh~ what's wrong Vincent?

"I-You-..UGH!"

Vincent bangs his head on their diner table.

Their waiter cautiously walks up to their booth with concerned eyes.

"Hey? Is--Is he alright? I could call you a--"

"Oh yeah! Vinny is fine! Right babe?"

Oh that look.

Along with hearing Mao's voice go lower like that was amazing.

"W-Well then I'll get your check."

A few minutes later they were back on the road.

Joking, laughing, enjoying each others company.

Every time Vincent witnessed that side of him he slowly but steadily rose the price of Mao by either $100 or $200.

"Alright, Mao we're going to park for the night and start back up in the morning."

The two boys pulled the car seats back as far as they could go.

"Who's going to be the pillow tonight?"

Vincent sighs.

"Its my night to be the pillow"

"Coolio~ ...I love you Vinny~ *yawn* ..Goodnight..."

Vincent looked up at the car ceiling, then back down at the wolf boy.

He knew one day he'd have to let Mao go.

He just wished to hold onto him a little longer.

"Good night Mao.."
