There were times Emiliana had felt so happy and joyful in her life, one was when her dad had gotten her her dream bicycle for her 5th birthday, another was a picnic she went for with her dad and Mia, the fun she had that day was indescribable. But in all these occasions, Emiliana had never felt as much joy as she was feeling now. She had finally met her family, who now showered her with kisses and hugs, some in tears as they held her. She too was in tears, tears of joy and profound happiness. She tried to remember their names as much as possible as she moved from one person's arms to another. Some of her cousins who stood out included Angela, Anna's daughter, with her spit fire red hair and green eyes; Rosa, Sofia's elder sister who was one of the most beautiful amongst them with her blonde hair and deep blue eyes. Luca, her cousin, was really huge, he had pulled her into a hug and lifted her up before dropping her and giving a sloppy kiss on her forehead which earned him a smack on the head from his mom, Ulisse, another aunt. So far Emiliana had met all of them including the little ones like Berta who was not fully a vampire at the age of 12, Irene, 8 and Adele, 6.
It was almost an hour since she had met them and was now having a conversation with some of her cousins who wanted to know how her life had been so far. Rosa was more interested in knowing how many boys she had been with and kept wiggling her eyebrows at Emiliana.
"Emili. It's time." Antonio said as he approached her. It was time for her to meet her grandfather.
The others understood too as they parted for Antonio to lead her away followed by Mia, Anna and Jared, Anna's husband. Jared looked so different from his mate with his hazel eyes and black hair. Antonio led them through a wide corridor with its walls covered with different priceless ancient paintings, then up a long staircase before they stopped in front of a huge door guarded by two of the biggest vampires Emiliana had ever seen. The two vampires looked like they were on steroids with their huge form and bulging muscles. They bowed before they stood aside for the group. Antonio pushed the doors open to reveal a big study with a large mahogany desk in the middle with scrolls and books on it. The walls were covered with few paintings and so many shelves with large books on them. A long black couch was placed on one side, the floors were made of polished wood, with the middle of the room where the desk was placed covered in what looked like the skin of a tiger but this tiger was one Emiliana had never seen before. A door to the right which led to a balcony stood open and out from it emerged a man, dressed in black turtle neck shirt and blue suit coat and trousers, his long black hair tied in a neat bun, and looking like a god. He stepped away from the door and closer to the desk, everyone in the room could feel the power emanating from the man that stood in front of them.
His eyes scanned those who stood before him till it rested on the young lady who stood with her head down and nervously playing with the sleeves of her shirt. He smiled as the image of a certain woman with the same eyes as the girl filled his memory. He had waited for years for this day to come, to be reunited with his beloved granddaughter.
"Mia bellissima nipote" He spoke opening his arms out to her, his voice reverberating through the room, the immense power behind it.
Emiliana's head shot up as she looked at her grand father for the first time in her life. Tears filled her eyes with some slipping through. She darted through the room towards his outstretched arms and fell into it as he pulled her tightly to himself and laid his head on hers. Emiliana held back a sob as tears poured down her face. No one had ever seen the Grand Lord cry or even shed a tear, so it came as a surprise to those in the room as they watched the Grand Lord hold his grand daughter close with tears running down his face. He pulled back and holding her face in his hands, he placed a long kiss on her forehead. Emiliana was indeed his greatest treasure.
"Mia Emiliana." He smiled at her lovingly.
"Grandpapa." She smiled back. She starred into his charcoal black eyes.
"I lost my light the day your father took you to live away from here. Now you're back and so is my light." He kissed her head again and hugged her. "Ti amo tanto mia Emiliana."
"Ti amo anch'io grand papa"
