RULES FOR PARTICIPANTS

Now for the rules! These are applicable for ALL participants/contestants of every category, but addressed more to authors. Graphic designers, please proceed to the rules for your respective group.

I. Give a permanent follow to this account nazahace. I will be checking. All announcements will be via that account, so you do not need to follow @AceState unless you want to. If you unfollow, you will be blacklisted and will not be able to enter any Ace Awards ever again.

II. Add this book, "The Ace Awards 2020," to your public reading list and library. This is to promote the book for the benefit of everyone who enters.

III. Contestants are encouraged to talk to other contestants, whether in the same category or in other categories. Judges will monitor this and shoutouts may be given to these interactionists.

IV. Do not interact with judges privately in the duration of the awards, unless it is extremely important. This is to stop any methods pertaining to bribery for better placements. In response to this, I will be lending a hand in judging so that there is no unfairness. Rest assured.

V. Enter books that are in English only in this award. I may host a separate award for international languages, but this is unofficial so do not rely on it.

VI. Add the tag "#theaceawards2020" to your book's tags, or in the description of your book. This is so I can sort out all the entries, and it is compulsory. If I catch a book without the tag, I will ask you to add it before entering you into the award.

VII. I am aiming to provide exposure for unknown books, so your books must be under 50,000 reads. Votes do not matter. To assure that you've read the rules, the password is your favorite food. Be creative.

VIII. Graphic designers, you may enter 5 covers and I will either host someone to be the judge of this category or judge it myself. Graphic designers, I may ask you for help to design some of the prizes, so if you accept, you will automatically be considered for 1st place in both the helper and graphic section. I will go into depth on this in your section.

IX. Participants for book awards must have at least four chapters before entering (including the prologue if there is one, but excluding the preface/introduction which will be evaluated for another prize). This does not apply to poetry, and short stories, which must have at least two chapters.

X. Contestants for the book awards will be automatically nominated for the sideline "best introduction" and "best cover" competition. Contestants for, specifically, poetry, will automatically be nominated for the "best poet" award. Please note that even if you get first place in poetry, this does not mean you will get the "best poet" award.

XI. You will be allowed to enter only two books, that too in different categories. You will be required to tag at least four people to participate in the award.

XII. Mature books are allowed, and so are LGBTQ stories. Feel free to apply anytime.

XIII. If you change your username or the name of your book, please let me know via the account nazahace , in a private message.
