Blaze

It's the first day of school at Cocave high school, the halls packed with students, and the air filled with a damp energy. Another group of teenagers scream and run into an embrace, not even noticing me as they hug and catch up with each other's lives. Yes a completely normal small town school. Being a kid who just moved into a small town can be rough, especially because of the reason I moved . The bell rings and the kids herd into the school a few catching up with friends but most peering at their schedule papers and messing with their lockers. I just quietly walk up to my locker . I look down at my schedule to find my combination then tried it . I opened locker on the first try. "Wow I wish I had your skills" the person next to me sighs. At first I just stand there and take in details, the girl next to me wasn't short but not as tall as I am ; the girl had mid length brown hair, and the longest, most perfect eyelashes I had ever seen so she was beautiful. "Yeah well I guess its newbies luck "I laughed awkwardly then grabbed my stuff "I got to get to my first period", I paused then added' Mr. O'Dell." I watched as the girls eyes lighted up and a smile danced across her face "oh my gosh that's my first period class too!" she grabbed the me by my arm barely giving me time to close my locker as she pranced down the hall pulling me behind her . I was glad the girl didn't know me ; surely if she did she wouldn't be this close. "Oh you know... I never got your name?' I smiled, "its Alex" i stated . She mumbled my name as if trying it on for size "Alex huh, I like it ." she smiled " I'm blaze." we walked in and sat down next to each other.
" so Alex ..."she started .
"Yes?" I replied as I turned to look at her . Her eyes were so green as I looked I felt as if a jungle were swallowing me whole.
" what lunch do you have ?"
I thought but couldn't remember so I got out my schedule and looked .
" second. " I stated as I looked back into her beautiful green eyes. My heart fluttered , I had never knew what people meant before , when they said they had butterflies in their stomach . She touched my hand and I looked back into her eyes completely rapt.
" what's wrong?"she asked, giving me a concerned look,
I felt my checks warm up. So I turned my face so she wouldn't notice .
" oh nothing . I sighed , just bored ." I turn and look at her. I couldn't help but smile .
