I ran.
That's all I did. I just ran and ran, never stopping, even as my legs grew sore and numb I just ran. My breathing heavy as I ran further into this deep forest.
Jumping over broken branches, huge stones and dodging under low tree branches.
I grew tired, but I was determined to live. To let those I love live. I wanted to stop, but as the tears continued to fall from my determined face, I continued. Wind rushing into my face, hair, arms. Attempting to slow me down.
The home I once knew, now far behind me in ashes.
Something is after me.
And it's getting closer, I was slowing because of my aching legs.
'Why?! Why didn't I just listen!? Why did this have to happen?!' I thought, screaming at myself for my stupidity.
But then hit me. I tripped and fell into a dark void, hitting my head hard on stone. Blood gushing out. I lost consciousness and fell. I went from running to falling.
'Now I'm dead...'
1 hour earlier....
"Jade! Get your ass down here and load the dishwasher!" yelled mum from downstairs.
I was drawing quietly in my room, headphones blasting rock music into my ears. My brown hair unbound and bed hair. I was wearing loose clothes, a crop top underneath.
And yes, I'm a girl.
I nodded my head as I drew a shadow casting over people. I was pretty proud of my work. But I would be prouder if it could come to life!
Imagine that! A shadow monster! Jumping out of the page and raging at everyone!
I snickered at the thought, I felt joyous at the thought. Well, that feeling slipped from my grasp as someone yanked off my headphones, pulling an earring on my ear.
I winced and whirled around.
"Hey! What do you-" I was cut off by a slap across my face. It was my mother standing there, cross armed and a stern, disappointed look across her face.
"I told you to get downstairs!" my mother hissed at me, glaring. "I will confiscate these off of you!"
I nodded meekly and stood up, making my way downstairs until my mother shouted, "Hey! What are you doing!?"
I turned and pointed downstairs.
Mother continued to glare and pointed to my room, I walked back there and sat on my bed.
"You are grounded!" mother growled.
I lowered my head I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out.
What did I do?!
Mother left the room after shutting the door. I walked back to my desk and drew once again.
I wish this could come to life...
I narrowed my eyes and peered closer, I swore that the drawing moved slightly. I shrugged and walked to my bed, flopping down on it and falling asleep again.
30 minutes later...
I was awoken by a huge grumbling sound, a shaking house and a death curdling scream. I sat up, only to smell smoke and see the house beginning to burn. I ran out of my room, covering my mouth and nose with another shirt I had and ran downstairs.
Only to find my mother in a dark shadowed monster's arms. Her lifeless body flipping about. I watched in horror as the monster slowly turned to me and a horrid bloody smile was spread across it's face.
I stepped back a little and searched for an exit.
The front door!
Without hesitation I bolted.
The sound of something slithering was coming fast behind me, I dared a look back and that monster was following me. Keeping that smile on it's face. It's deep red eyes were haunting me, I couldn't get them out of my head.
But I continued running. For my life depended on it.
But here I am. Laying, unconscious on the ground, in a pool of my own blood, no doubt the monster staring hungrily at me.
Goodbye world.
