Graduation

6 YEARS LATER

I was woken up by Jinx throwing a yellow and black gown at me.

"Time to graduate!I'm going to miss you as a room mate...But you've grown up so much."She frowned at me.I have grown to like Jinx.She was like my sister.I am now 14 years old.Through my 6 years of intense training,I've learned a lot about my powers.I learned how to control my hallucination powers,and that I have the power to erase other people's powers compltely.But only when they are around me.And I can only do it for a short amount of time.It completely drains my energy.

"You've been an amazing room mate,Jinx.Will we see each other after graduation today?"

"Maybe.I'm not sure.We'll get assigned into groups of two or three to be a team.You will probably get paired with Cateyes.I mean,you two have powers that work well together..."Cateyes was another girl that went to the H.I.V.E. Her powers were that she had night vision,and the speed and reflexes of a cat.She was always paired with me during training.

"Maybe.And maybe you'll be on our team.We won't ever know until they announce it."

"I agree.Well,you should get ready.Don't want to be late."She was right.I pulled the gown over my head.

"Well,do I look like I learned a lot?"

"You look like a fighter.A true H.I.V.E. graduate."She turned and hugged me.

"It's okay.I'll miss you Jinx."

"I'll miss you too.Knock them dead,girl."We walked out of our now empty room with our bags.We walked to the auditorium.Almost everyone was seated in the large,crowded auditorium.The room was filled with the chatter of the excited graduates who were waiting to be assigned missions and teams.The chatter was shattered when we heard the headmistress turn her microphone on.

"Hello,graduate H.I.V.E academy students.You have all blossomed into wonderful students.Now is the time for me to assign you teams and if you don't have a name,then we will make you one.Jinx,Mammoth,and Gizmo,you will all be a team."Jinx got up from her seat next to me and frowned at me.They all went and stood to the side of the headmistress's podium.

"Next,I need Isis, and Cateyes."I stood up from my seat at the exact time that Cateyes did.She looked at me and gave me a half smile.After Cateyes and I were called up,I didn't pay any attention.But before we left,we were assigned beginning missions.Cateyes and I were to take $200 from someone's house.We walked the city looking for a house who's owners weren't home.There was but one house that looked quiet.It was at the edge of the city.All of the lights were off and there appeared to be no one home.

"Well,you ready for this?"Cateyes looked down as we crouched behind a bush near the house.

"I guess so..."We didnt have to try too hard to get in.The door was unlocked.We crept into a small living room.It was an average house.A newspaper on the coffee table, ashes in the fireplace,it looked like someone had been here not too long ago.

"Come on,Isis.We have to find something.Lets split up.You stay here and look and I'll go upstairs."

"Okay.Be careful."Cateyes nodded and crept up the stairs.I walked into the kitchen to look for any money.There was nothing.It wasn't long before I heard a scream and some glass shatter from upstairs.I ran up,fear closing off what sense I had.I didn't care what could happen to me by running up those stairs.I just didn't want anyone getting hurt.

I ran into the nearest door and was instantly shocked.The bodies of a man and woman were lying on the ground. Cateyes was standing over them.

"It's okay,Isis.I handled the situation.Did you get the money?"

"No!How could you do this?!You killed innocent people!You did not have to do that!"I could feel the anger and sorrow replacing the fear inside of me.I was fighting back tears.

"Isis,we are villains.We swore to do whatever it takes to complete the mission given to us."

"I don't care anymore!I don't want any part of harming ANYONE!"Fire started to appear between where me and Cateyes were standing.

"Calm down.We're partners.You wouldn't dare hurt me."She took a step back.

"Try me."The flames rushed toward her.Cateyes did a backflip toward the window.She stopped to look me in the eyes before jumping.The flames vanished.I examined the bodies,both were definitely done for.I looked out the window.She was nowhere to be seen.

I heard a noise from behind me.It sounded like someone crying.I turned to see a boy.He was about 12 years old.He had little sparks coming from his fingertips.

"P-p-please don't h-hurt me."Another tear fell from his eye.

"I won't.I'm sorry about your parents."I took a step toward him,but as soon as I did,he raised both of his hands and lightning shot out at me.I fell to the floor.

"I'm sorry!"He continued to cry,"I can't control it!"He fell to his knees.

I gritted my teeth and sat up."It's okay.I have an idea.Do you want to come with me?I can help you control that."

"W-well,I saw what happened when that lady killed my parents.You're a nice person.If you think you can help me,then okay..."I got up and helped the boy up.He packed a few of his belongings and we left.We weren't sure of where we were going,but we would find a place.Someday.But until then,we focused on training.
