Not Safe

Every day was the same day as yesterday. Walang pinagbago nakaka sawa na. I woke up, fix myself, go to school, look at everyone blankly and not letting anyone to break me.

I never wanted to be broken, for sure neither do you.

My life was normal, everyone was happy. That's the only thing matters for me, even without my own happiness in it.

I thought it's already enough not until the day of my first class.

I sat on the second seat near the window. I slowly look out the window my heart pumped heavily making it slightly hard to breathe, he... This guy is starring, diretsong diretso sa mga mata ko.

"I'm James Code Amarillo" the simplest introduce he say "May I know your name?" Curiosity was already filling his voice.

He's looking at my eyes like he know all about me and after a few minutes of starring contest he suddenly smile...which made me feel really weird.

"I'm Mikael... Mikael Buenaventura"

"Ikaw pala ang rumored nerd sister ni boss"

"Boss? Why are you calling my dumbass brother as boss?"

"Why don't you try asking him it's not that hard"

"If you only know him, he'll just answer that question with another question"

"I already know him" he turned his head to look out the window "-- more than you"

My eyes squinted "Are you mocking me?"

"No" his quiet laugh can easily caught your attention, it was cu--uhmm nevermind.

Kumunot ang noo ko "Quit laughing" I said, he then looked at me and when he knew I was serious he looked.

"Just try okay" he said and look outside the window

Hours have passed and same things happened over and over. The stupid introduce yourself, everytime I say my name they'll interrupt me and say "Is Mico Buenaventura your brother?" I just wanna go home and lay down on my bed

As the bell rang which only means.

Yeeeheeyy! It's time to go home

I can already lay down on my fluffy bed and sleep all day

When I was about to walk out I saw my brother he was standing outside the room, holding his phone on his ear. Seems like he was arguing with someone on the phone.

I tapped his shoulder, he looks at my me and mouthed 'wait'. As he finished I finally talked "Bakit ka nandito?"

"You're not safe going home alone anymore"

"So you already know Cody?" He was looking at my direction, no behind me.

Tumingin ako sa likod ko at muntik na mapatalon. The guy he was talking about was behind me silently standing and smiling. I didn't even heard him.

"Pwedeng sumabay?" his jolly voice was weird

"You have a car, ride that" Kuya said, he seems annoyed.

"I got grounded" he simply said.

Kuya sighed and walk away and suddenly stopped "Just for today" pointing towars Cody.

"Noooo" he sounded like a kid. Dude you're like 17 maybe. "Until I got my car again I'll ride with you pwetty pwease" this kind of voice should irritate me but... Nevermind

Childish

"Psh childish" my brother said. Cody smile just got larger.

As we got home I hurried going up my room.

Sleep, I miss you

I was about to close my eyes when I remember something

Assignment? Nope It's a different.

I got up and banged the door of my brother's room

"Wala siya dito?" I said as I look around his room. "But we just came home"

But the hell did he do this past few years and teachers know him very well for his bullshits.

That night while having a dinner I ask my mom what did Kuya do on the last few years and the teachers really know him

She just answered "Madaming kalokohan-- madaming madaming kalokohan, almost every day na nga kami pinapatawag ng principal dahil sa ginagawa ng kuya mo e"

"Like what?"

"Like-- uhmm, you know Mika don't mind that and finish your food" she said calmly and starred mumbling.

But why did it feels like they were hiding something...even Kuya was acting weird.

So as for the next day

I'm not really comfortable sa pagsasabay sakin ni Kuya pumasok, actually I don't like it but when I insisted he shouted and told me "I told you, you're not safe outside alone" and now here I am sitting pretty in his car.

"So susunduin mo pa ko mamaya?"

"How many times do I have to tell you---"

"Pang third na kung sasabihin mo pa ulit"

"E pangatlo na pala bakit parang di mo parin maintindihan?"

"Naiintindihan ko I just don't get it, why do you have to do this if in the first place I--" I was about to get out of the car.

"Daldal mo lumabas ka na lang" and he kicked me out of the car

Sana walang nakakita

As soon as I got up people were already laughing

Oh great look what you've done,

"Anyone who laugh and make fun of my sister except for me of course--" I rolled my eyes

"-- I'll be your worst nightmare"

And suddenly everyone stop laughing and get back of what they were doing. I stood up and bid him goodbye, I waited until he's gone, I sighed heavily and start walking to my classroom.

Oh really great everyone is looking at me, guess I'll never be a loner anymore, because I'll be the bullies first target.

I think I'm not safer with him
