Friday Glee club practice in the auditorium:

"OK guys, the reason we're meeting in the auditorium today, is because Marley wanted to sing her song for this week's assignment in here, and she wanted to play the piano while singing it." "Take it away Marley." Will said. Marley smiled warmly. "I'd like to dedicate this song to my fiance Kitty, and to my future brother in law Scott; Wherever he is, I just want to say, please come back to us. We miss you and we love you." She then took a seat at the piano and began singing while playing:

(Note: *Spoiler Alert* This becomes a duet; Bold is Scott, Italics is Marley, underlined text is them singing together)

So far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place any more?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
And it doesn't help to know you're just time away
Long ago I reached for you and there you stood
Holding you again would only do me good
Oh how I wish I could but you're so far away

One more song about moving along the highway
I can't say much of anything that's new
But if I could only work this life out my way
I'd rather spend it being close to you

But you're so far away

(Marley stopped playing and singing, when suddenly a piano played from the choir room, and a voice began singing)

So far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place any more?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
And it doesn't help to know you're so far away
So far away, yeah, you're so far away

Traveling around sure gets me down and lonely
Nothing else to do but close my mind

(The Glee club hurried down to the choir room to see who it was, and they got a shock! Scott was back and is the one singing and playing the piano!)

And I sure hope the road don't get to own me

There's so many dreams that I've yet to find

(Marley smiles and joins Scott singing)

But you're so far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place any more?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
And it doesn't help to know you're so far away
So far away, yeah, you're so far away

"Scott!" Kitty & Sugar said, crying tears of joy. "You're back!" They both rushed to embrace him. Marley joined in the embrace as well, and soon the rest of the Glee club joined in the group hug. "We missed you so much." Kitty, Marley & Sugar said crying. "I really missed you guys." Scott replied smiling. "Where have you been man?" Spencer asked. "Busy; I definitely got around." Scott said. "Elaborate for us." Will instructed. "First I went to Chicago to sever some old ties. I told my former employer that I had no interest in returning to work at his law firm, but that having him fire me was one of the best things that happened to me." Scott explained. "Why?" Roderick asked. "Well, it gave me a reality check number one, and number two, it gave me a second chance to find a few things, find a purpose, find a path to redemption & righteousness, but more importantly, it gave me a second chance at friendship, family, and love." Kitty, Marley, Sugar & Bree had tears of joy in their eyes. "When I got back in town on Wednesday, I went to see Sue Sylvester." "What did she say?" Bree asked. "She says she still owes you a favor Bree; I told her we needed transportation and paid expenses for our road trip to Nationals." "I don't think we can afford it." Bree said sadly. "We can now." Scott said. "Sue called in some favors with an old friend who lives in New York. She called me yesterday, and our trip is all set!!! The Glee club's jaws all dropped, even Will's as well.

"Come on guys, I've only been gone for four days, don't act too surprised." Scott said. Kitty began to cry, and gave a heartfelt embrace to her brother. "It seemed like too long for me. Please don't go so far away next time." She cried. "I won't, I promise. If I do, I'll just take you, Marley, & Sugar with me." Scott chuckled. Kitty, Marley & Sugar laughed. "Welcome back Scott, and thanks for bailing us out for Nationals." Will said. "Don't thank just me, thank Bree and Sue as well." Scott replied. Bree then gave Scott a fist pound out of respect. "Mr. Schue, I was wondering if we had time, if I could sing a song." Scott requested. "By all means." Will said. The Glee club with the exception of Scott took their seats, but then Scott looked to Mr. Schue. "Could you play the piano while I sing please?" "Sure." Will said. Will began playing, and Scott began to sing:

If I listened long enough to you,
I'd find a way to believe that its all true
Knowing, that you lied straight-faced while I cried
Still I look to find a reason to believe

Someone like you, makes it hard to live without somebody else
Someone like you, makes it easy to give
Never think about myself

If I gave you time to change my mind
I'd try to leave all the past behind
Knowing, that you lied straight-faced while I cried
Still I look to find a reason to believe

Someone like you, makes it easy to live without somebody else
Someone like you, makes it hard to give
Never think about myself

If I listened long enough to you,
I'd find a way to believe that its all true
Knowing, that you lied straight-faced while I cried
Still I look to find a reason to believe

Still I look to find a reason to believe (One More Time)

Still I look to find a reason to believe

"Yeah!" The Glee club cheered and applauded Scott's performance. Some members even had tears in their eyes. "Great Job Scott." Will said. "Well the week isn't over yet Mr. Schue." Scott said. "Really?" Will asked. "Oh yeah. I was thinking of a group ensemble number." Scott quipped. "What did you have in mind?" Will asked. "DJ, play that music." Scott said.

We'll see what happens in the next episode; Until then, catch you on the flip side!!!

By the way, the Rod Stewart songs sung by the respective Glee club members in this chapter are:

1. Marley & Scott- "So Far Away" (1996). (This is a reference to Melissa Benoist's role on Broadway as Carole King. She did a wonderful job portraying her. :-)
❤️

2. Scott- "Reason to Believe" (1971).

3. Group Ensemble- "Having A Party" (1993).
