Far from now

For lack of choice, Roy was heading back to Panhood where he grew up. Like most people after the biological disaster, he had left this area, even gangs preferred to stay away from this godforsaken place. The only ones living here were those who had no other choice.

as Roy passed the red glowing warning signs, he prayed to God that he wouldn't meet those nomads. Abandoned army positions made it clear that he was approaching the point of no return

A rusty electric fence was placed around Panhood, But that won't stop him. As Roy was assured by the invitation, the main gate remained open for him. Because of this Roy managed to cross the fence in his over the car without a problem.

The road leading to what used to be the residential houses was empty. Even the soldiers who were supposed to patrol these roads were not in sight. It was not used to be that way, Once his old neighborhood was full of color but now all the streets look to him the same as a faded old picture.

Roy drove between the abandoned suburban buildings. It was easy for him to find his destination. As he got closer, it was hard for him to breathe. As Roy approached the driveway, he noticed that the front door was open.

He parked his over-car beside the old house and waited in the vehicle to let the anxiety attack pass. The old man knew he could not meet the demon when he was in such a state. It would be inappropriate and disrespectful for any of them.

As Roy was waiting he looked at the deserted Kane street. From the over-car seat, Roy could see past ghosts playing before him his memories. Roy watched them in silence for hours. He whispered to them "I have no other choice, no one else is left".

Nowadays people from his past will not recognize him. Because, since the last time Roy was here he has gained weight, Today most people are talking behind his back and call him Fat R.Even if he heard that, it won't matter to him, because food is one of the only pleasure left in the short time he still had left.

The disappearing sun made it clear to Roy that time was running out and he had to get inside his childhood home before it was too late. He tried to find an excuse to linger some more in his over-car.

So, Roy checked that nothing had been forgotten. To the best of his knowledge, he took care of everything, Everyone knew he would not come back, though no one understood why. Roy even wore comfortable clothes that were very easy to remove. In order to make the process faster. Yes, he almost thought of everything.

It was getting late, Roy forced himself out of the over- car, and made his way to the house.

From the outside, It was the same two-story private house as the others, but his former home was now surrounded by a yellow fence, It was a new addition Which was added to keep the monsters away from the one inside.

Roy stood in the center of the foyer. In front of him on a white wooden door was a hopeful plastic sign on which was inscribed in blue letters "Welcome to the Goldenslinger Family". The old man looked at it and sighed.

A beam of light peeked at him through the doorway, barely illuminating the foyer. He moved toward the front door, every step of his body transmitting discomfort. He stepped into the twilight light that filled the interior of the house.

The first thing Roy noticed was the smell of decay that came from every corner. Only after he closed the front door Roy noticed the second thing, the two large suitcases. They were waiting in the middle of the empty living room, waiting to be taken away from this dystopian state.

Roy knew that whole life was neatly packed into them. The appearance of those innocent suitcases made what he needed to do real and again he felt the pressure on his chest. Roy closed his eyes and breathed and exhaled until he felt his body relax, and only then he looked for his host.
