I woke up one sunny morning to the sound of roosters crowing outside, I looked out the window with the sun shining through softly caressing my skin with it's subtle heat, I immediately put my slippers on and ran outside over to the backyard, I ran over to the old tree we had there it was tall and a great shed, so I sat down right beside the trunk and watched as the grass swayed like the ocean waves, I sat there and decided to read a book, it was my favourite book it had two characters who went on adventures, I sat there till my father called me over for lunch, I ran back to the house, but during lunch my father was.. Well.. Quiet? Really quiet it was obvious to me something has been bothering him lately I looked into his eyes and saw some.. Sadness? I politely asked "Dad? Is there something bothering you?" He looked over to me but before he could mutter anything my mother came rushing to the dining area "hunny I think you should tell her" I looked at them expectantly it was obvious it was something serious. My father gathered up his courage and said "I'm sorry Lucy.. We're moving cities" My heart sank it sank lower than the damn ground I kind of just stared at them for a period of time until a tear ran down my cheek then another, then another, then another until I started pouring my eyes out. I screamed at them out of anger and sadness, I ran to my room still sobbing and locked the door, I flopped onto my bed and sobbed for hours. I felt defeated I felt lost I felt lonely and I felt hopeless everything I ever stood for is now gone. Years ago I promised my grandmother on her deathbed that no one else would get a hold on her home. I clenched my pillow and stayed there till the sun rose. I didn't come out my room in 2 days, I was hungry and thirsty but I didn't care. I told my self that none of this is real and that my parent's would soon forget about it.. Right?
