Little White Chair

There is a place not far from here,

Where the skies are bright and clear.

And a little house sits alone,

I'll tell you about the little home.

There is a woman by herself,

She is very low in wealth,

All she does all day,

Is sit on a little white chair and rock away.

But one day she had to move out,

She didn't know what it was all about,

They asked if she wanted to take the chair,

And she protested with her finger in the air,

"That chair stays right on the porch,

It's been that way before."

And she left the chair behind,

For someone else to find.

When the woman's daughter Carrie,

Went and got marriied,

They moved to the house and when they got there,

The only thing there...was the little white chair.
