I fell in love with the sky,
It was something about the golds and pinks
Against the stark white and calming blue.
The way my mind would go into a trance,
The way my senses would blur and merge into one.
Intoxicated.
I fell in love with the sky,
It had been there for all my life,
And yet , only now have I seen
Only yet now have I felt,
Only yet now have I desired so strongly
To abandon the earth and be one of them.
Only now.
I fell in love with the sky.,
And I wondered why,
Why for so long I'd never looked up,
Why I'd kept my head down,
Down,
Bent down
Broken down
Eyes trained down,
Crushed, crumbling, nothing
Dust.
I've always looked down,
Maybe it was because down,
Was everything that I had known,
Derogative.
Lessening.
Belittling.
But not anymore.
I fell in love with the sky,
But I think I fell in love,
With something else much more.
