The fake smile she’d kept on during the whole encounter dropped the moment the both of them walked off. It felt as if her chest was swelling up with water, she raised a fisted hand to her chest and slightly pounded it. The room spun for what seemed forever before she fell to the floor. Voices circled around her, she shut her eyes tightly, curling up into a small ball not caring who saw her. 

Tears had now begun to flow freely down her cheeks.

“Celeste” she sobbed out

You missed your chance.

She’s happier without you.

She loves him.

Love.

Loves….

She gasped for air, the sweat dripping from her forehead mixing with her tears. She blinked rapidly, trying to slow down her breathing. She reached over and flicked the lights back on.

“It’s not real” she muttered to herself, “It was just a…..just a-” 

She was at a loss for words. What in Lucifer’s name was that? 

Why did it hurt so much, it all felt too real, too real for her. 

She got up from bed, pushing back the covers roughly. She crossed her arms against her chest and paced slowly in front of her bed. 

When the realization finally hit her, she stopped dead in her tracks and leaned against the ottoman, feeling faint.
