Lily is a five year old wondering around her grandmothers house causing chaos and being as loud as she possibly can, she'd never not let herself be heard.
She must stand out and rise above the shallow she's seen all her life. Her minds filled with so many questions and wonderful ideas for the world she lives in.
She likes rainbows, tutus, strawberries, ice cream, princesses, fairies, ballet, singing, wearing bows, being hugged, getting a's, puppies, and getting into mischief.
Lily runs into the bathroom quickly. Once she washes her hands she notices a flower vase filled with pretty pink roses. There's a positive and negative side to everything.
"You should definitely touch those thorns!"
The voice in her head yells.
"But then my hand will get cuts?"
"Well that's true but look how sharp they are!"
The voice yells louder.
"Yeah you're right" lily proceeds to wrap her hand around the stem of the rose immediately she retracts it and her hand aches.
Lily begins to cry and rush out of the restroom to her grandmother.
Her grandmother immediately assist lily and proceeds to ask her
"How'd this happen honey?"
"The thorns looked pointy" lily said as her grandmother wiped her tears.
Grandma sits lily down at the kitchen table and gets her first aid kit from the closet in the hallway.
She wipes the blood away with a wipe and puts Sesame Street bandages over Lily's cuts. She kisses Lily's hand.
"Please god help Lily's cuts stop hurting" grandma whispers to herself.
"Will god help my hand be better grandma?" Lily asked expectantly.
"Yes honey god helps you when he thinks he needs to" Grandma said while putting the first aid kit back in it's place.
"Will god help when my teddy disappears?" Lily asked.
Grandma chuckles while walking back to where lily sat.
She pushed Lily's hair back behind her ear.
"Yes honey of course" she kissed Lily's cheek and lifted her up as she walked to the living room with lily in her hands.
"How about we watch Beauty and the Beast honey?" Grandma asked.
"Yeah I wanna see the lamp and the clock and the little cup!" Lily said as she waved her hands in front of her trying to make the shapes of the objects she named.
Grandma set Lily down put the vhs in the television and pressed play.
Lily and her grandma watched the film, as it went on grandma fell asleep Lily remained wide awake alone. Her mouth felt dry.
"Let's go to the fridge!"
The voice said sleepily.
Lily jumped off her spot on the couch and skipped over to the fridge.
"Let's get some juice!"
The voice now said excitedly.
Lily got the grape juice from the fridge and set it on the floor since it was heavy for her.
She grabbed the yellow cup with her name on it.
She poured the juice successfully with no mess.
"Woah, how'd you do that!"
"I'm a big girl now!" Lily said loudly as she put the juice back in the fridge, she picked up her cup and went back to watch the film
