Somewhere in the mountains, few hours later...
Blood. All you smell is blood... and cold. Your feet is as cold as ice. You could see nothing but black adorned by white polkadots above you, twinkling softly as if they were trying to reach your side.
It was the night sky.
As prepossessing as your wings, as wide as the ocean. You remembered that you and Shinobu would be sitting in the Butterfly Estate's garden, telling stories as the both of you gazed at the sky, laughing all night.

Not until you heard a scream from afar that you glanced down at the surroundings. Now, you see tall, leafless trees with snow covering the branches, and also a demon's body that was slowly dissolving into ashes below a tree. That explains a lot why you smelled blood... you were fighting with a supposedly fellow demon.

The ground was all white; freezing. It felt like you were stepping on needles. The mountain wasn't snowing until you encountered that demon under the tree, having a strong Blood Demon Art which could turn blood into ice and snow. It was indeed cold, but the worse part is that you weren't wearing any shoes, nor did you put on enough clothes to cover your whole body. They were torn when you were battling that ice demon.

"Help us! Anybody!" You heard the scream again. This time, you flew to the direction of the source, flapping your huge wings as fast as you can while enduring the stinging sensation on your skin. The frosty wind had you in a pretty rough situation, and you could now smell nothing but the wintry air as you flew through the night sky. "Anybody?!" Again with the scream. Your heartbeat tensed and you sped up double-time, until you silently landed on top of a small, wooden house with dead bodies scattered on the snow.
Hungry... i'm hungry...

You scanned the entire area for a good-looking corpse to eat, until you saw one of them standing up right, having a little girl in a pink kimono on his back. That one's still alive. Two of them were still alive. The one who was staring at you was a young boy with a very dark red hair, having a kind maroon eyes. He was scared though. Scared of you. And he was also the one who had been screaming back then. The both of you contemplated on each other, before you lightly dropped on the snow in front of him.

"W-Who a-are y-you?" The boy lingered his steps back, trembling. You began to walk towards him, making him panic in fear, but not after you managed to reach before his eyes that he calmed down. You didn't know what was inside the boy's mind, but you were slightly relieved that he trusted you. Gently, slowly, and in a mother-like way, you rested your cold palm on his forehead, which had a scar on the left side. Then, your two butterfly hairpins came to life, and glided to the boy. Flapping around his head, they whispered kindly. "This way... Tanjirou... this way..."

"Y-You know my name?" He asked the butterflies, but they didn't answer. They simply flew away while omitting glitters from their wings, guiding Tanjirou the path to a nearby hospital. Tanjirou quickly followed, but as soon as he turned back to thank you, you had been long gone. You didn't want to stay in that place any longer for the blood was making your stomach grumble. Your mouth had even water without you realizing it.
Hungry... i'm hungry...
But you wouldn't eat. Not in that place.
Not his family...
