Chapter 2

After a very nice time out in Australia for 2 weeks, we have just returned home, back to reality. Stefan is back to work in 2 days, giving himself a day or so to get back to normal with jetlag, whereas I have my audition tomorrow so hopefully that goes well and I'm wide awake for it!

Dad is busy with work today, got a good case, so Alice and Jacob have picked us up from the airport.

"So how was it?" Jake asks as he drives along the motorway.

"Yeah you guys look tanned, did you sunbathe a lot out there?" Ali asks.

"Not intentionally" I answer.

"We were out and about quite a lot, touring the place but not necessarily sunbathing" Stefan says.

"So are you pregnant yet?" Ali asks. I knew this was coming, so did Stefan.

"No" I answer.

"If she is then she has some explaining to do, she wants some married couple time so we've been careful" Stefan says, joking about the first part, obviously.

"So what did you do?" Jake asks.

"We mainly explored and had fun, had some beach time-" Stefan starts and I interrupt excitedly.

"We managed to go jet skiing too" I say.

"Yeah, that was amazing, a great experience, but yeah, it was fun, nice to get away from home, and as a married couple" Stefan says.

"Maybe one day me and Jake will get there" Ali says.

"Yeah, I'd love to see Australia" Jake says. I know exactly what Alice really meant.

We get home and with Alice's and Jakes help, we get all of our luggage inside and leave it by the door to deal with later.

"You guys staying for a bit?" I ask.

"Sure, if we're not getting in the way" Alice says.

"I do have a couple of things to do later so we can't stay for hours" Jake says.

"I've got this new game we could check out together?" Stefan suggests to Jake.

"Yeah sure, I'd love to" He says and they disappear, leaving me and Alice alone in the kitchen so I make us a cup of tea each. We sit down with our teas for a chat.

"So how was the sex life over there?" She asks. Here we go again.

"Honestly, it was amazing, as always, but I've been sore down there, it's been worth it, but he was just constantly horny there" I chuckle.

"Yeah, they're like that, Jake can be like that with me, sometimes leaving me walking a little weirdly" She says. I don't really need to know.

"I-" She interrupts me just as I'm about to say something.

"Why aren't you trying for a baby yet? What's all that about?" She asks.

"Well Stefan is pretty much desperate to start a family, which I understand, we've been together for like 8 years, and just got married, but I just think it would be nice to have a little while of being just a married couple and not a married couple with a baby on the way" I say a little nervously, Alice is also a little desperate to become an 'auntie' and 'godmother' as she says she'll be to our future child, or children.

"Yeah but it's like you said, you've been together for 8 years, most couples have at least one baby by then after that amount of time" She says.

"Well, I am pretty sure you and Jake have been together longer than Stefan and I, I don't see any wedding bells or babies happening for you two" I point out.
