I wanted to write more comedic and over the top books so here is one of the answers!
I had this in my mind for a while. Actually, the original story for me was Forth and Beam as rival assassins. But I wondered, if in the end they get together, what would their lives be? So I thought of this hilarious situation where their common sense is not for a normal citizen but that of an assassin. Haha!!!
Inspiration for this is of course Mr & Mrs Smith starring former husband and wife, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. For Forth's character, I took inspiration from Sosuke Sagara, the protagonist of Full Metal Panic. Watch the Fumoffu series, you will get an idea how this goes. He's the Brawn type of assassin. For Beam, since he's more brainy, he'll be more scientific so I guess I based him in my idea of a psychopathic scientist.
