"Is he here?"
"No, not yet."
"Any demands?"
"A chair in a wide room and a glass of wine."
The ghoul tilted his head looking at the other.
"That's a weird demand." He said confused.
"Think of it as a request rather than demand, they say he's really powerful and deadly, don't want to get onto his wrong side." The other Ghoul said setting up a table in the wide room.
"I guess not. When is he due to arrive?" The Ghoul asked.
"Tomorrow evening, just after 7 pm." The other replied. "It's apparently a big meeting, meaning there's going to be more coming." The other replied making the final adjustments.
"Is he here because of the rumour of the new half ghoul?" The ghoul asked.
The other nodded.
"After he failed to take on Kaneki, he decided to try and track down this new one." He said cracking his neck.
"But, it's only a rumour." The other said putting a finger to his mouth. The other shrugged.
"He's convinced it's not a rumour. Anyways let's go, boss needs us."
"Thank you. Please come back anytime!".
Konumunikari T'aishei was serving at the main bar in The Steel Mug coffee shop.
"Look at you, hard little worker." Kat said lifting some boxes inside.
"Anything to keep the business running you know." She smiled.
"Morning cutie." Eiji walked in wearing a rather unusual black suit with a tie. "Morning Kat."
Kat laughed.
"What are you wearing?!" She laughed.
"Can't you see it's a suit!" He said folding his arms.
"Did you just call me cutie?" Konnie asked confused.
Eiji went red.
"I-I meant Konnie! U-um!"
He rushed off.
"What's his problem?" She asked looking after him.
"Oh don't worry about it dear." Kat said chuckling and unboxing the boxes.
"Does he have a crush on me?" She said to herself in her head.
A couple hours later Konnie's shift ended and The Steel Mug closed for the night. She slumped over a table sighing.
"So tired. Wonder how Kaizus doing? Hope he's not worrying about me." She said to herself.
They indeed hadn't talked since Konnie's incident. She felt guilty, but, she couldn't tell him anything. He works for the CCG, not only would the others in The Steel Mug be at risk, but so would Kaizu. She buried her face in her hands.
"You okay there Kon?" Eiji sat opposite her.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine." She said sitting up.
"You sure?" He said raising an eyebrow. She nodded and stood up.
She walked into the bar and began brewing the kettle.
"Want one?" She asked turning around to Eiji. He nodded.
"Please." He replied nodding.
Konnie went ahead in finishing and making the coffees and sat down opposite Eiji.
"Thanks." He said taking a sip. He smiled. "Perfect." He winked. Konnie smiled and went read a little.
"No problem at all." She said taking a sip from hers.
The atmosphere became awkward. Eiji sat twiddling his thumbs looking down at his coffee. Konnie had her head propped up in her hands looking out the window at the dimly lit street. Every now and then she would look at him out of the corner of her eye. She found she sometimes got butterflies from doing this.
"Why am I feeling like this?" She thought to herself.
After about 5 minutes, Eiji took a deep breath and Konnie looked at him.
"Konnie. There's something I want to ask you." He said finally.
Konnie looked at him getting butterflies.
"What is it Eiji?" She asked.
He hesitated.
"Tomorrow night. Would you..." he looked away.
"Would I...?" Konnie repeated in question.
"Would you go on a date with me?" He said going red.
Konnie felt her face burning red.
"Eiji...I..."
"It's okay! You don't have to! It's just a thought..."
She put her hands on his. He looked into her eyes. Konnie smiled.
"I'd love to." She said. Eiji's face lit up.
"Awesome!!" He said jumping up. Konnie giggled.
"Tomorrow at 7pm?" Konnie asked. Eiji nodded.
"Yep!" He finished his coffee and put his coat on. Konnie did the same. She hesitated, but walked up to Eiji and kissed his cheek. He blushed red. Konnie giggled again.
"I'll...I'll see you tomorrow then!" He said walking out the door and waving. Konnie nodded and waved him goodbye back as he walked out.
She looked out the window and watched Eiji walking down the street doing some sort of celebratory dance. Konnie laughed and walked up to her room switching off the lights.
