The Reason I'm Writing

To be honest, I love writing, it's something I'm good at,

I can navigate myself through the darkness just like a bat.

It's a chance to be free, to let the pain go away,

Or to make sense of my feelings in every which way.

Writing is my catharsis, my saving grace,

It gives me a strong voice, a clear slate for my head space.

No one can hurt me here, there's no one to be found,

Just me, myself, and my thoughts bouncing all around.

I've realized that this is what I've longed for,

A place to speak when my throat can't no more.

The reason I'm writing is for my mental health,

It's something I can turn to when there is no one else.
