The police stopped by my house later that afternoon. I was sitting in the living room, curled up on the couch. It was only me and Kevin at home because my parents were at work, and Corey was at school. They wouldn't be back for another hour.

The officers rang the doorbell, it was such a normal noise to say that I'd never feel normal again. Before I could get up to answer the door, Kevin had run down the stairs and met them at the threshold, he kept the door cracked, so they wouldn't just barge into the room.

"You must be Kevin." The thick burly voice of a man echoed into the house.

"Yes sir," Kevin's voice was just as calm and smooth as ever.

"We have a few questions for you and the rest of the family, is anyone else home?" Another man spoke, his voice had an annoying twang to it.

"Just me and Amirẻe."

"Is it okay if we can come inside?" Twang-voice asked.

I stood up and walked to the door, pushing Kevin aside so that I could open the door for them. "Come sit down on the couch, I'm pretty sure you'd rather not stand on the porch all day." I led them inside to the living, where both officers seated themselves on the sofa. I plopped down in the loveseat, and Kevin just stood up, leaning on a wall and watching the officers suspiciously.

"So Amirẻe," The man with the burly voice spoke. He looked like every stereotypical cop in any movie to ever exist. He wore sunglasses, even though we were inside, and his mustache was thick. It looked like he had glued a hamster to his top lip. His hair was slicked back, and there was stubble along his jaw. "I understand that you were nearly kidnapped last night?"

"It wasn't nearly, I was snatched off the street and chained to a floor in an abandoned warehouse. I think that qualifies as actually being kidnapped." I looked from him to the other one. He was kind of chubby with an oval face and bald head. He looked like a bald Santa Claus, with a bright red nose and gray facial hair. "What are your names anyway, it's rude to just come in here and ask questions without introducing yourselves."

"My apologies. I'm officer Reynolds," Said hamster-stache, who then pointed to his chubby partner. "That's Officer Maresien."

"Shouldn't they have sent an actual detective? No offense to you guys, but there's been multiple kidnappings." Kevin eyed them warily. "It makes no sense to just have a few stray officers conduct the investigation."

"We're fully capable of doing our job kid, after we ask our questions, we'll leave and go look for the sicko that's been attacking our citizens. There's nothing to worry about." Officer Maresien spoke with a saltiness to his voice that meant he was slightly offended.

"Around what time were you kidnapped?" Reynolds seemed immune to Kevin's remark.

"Around five in the afternoon. I was walking home from track practice." I unconsciously rubbed at my wrists, the markings from the chains were ever present.

"Did you get a good look at the man who took you?"

"He wasn't much older than me. He could pass for a high school student to be honest. He had Black hair with red dye in it and he had dark green eyes. Um, he was around Kevin's height and build, and he wasn't alone. There were a bunch of other people, all men and boys of different ages. But, the one who actually took me was the only person I actually saw." I tried not to think too much about it as I described what happened to the officers. I refused to be emotional in front of complete strangers.
