December is nothing but everyone getting ready for Christmas shopping and fashion. Especially David's girlfriend, Delaney. Speaking of David, he's actually on his way to visit me. He called and told me he was coming to visit me, along with Clementine and Delaney.

Evangeline texted me this morning that her father was coming to visit her. But he would be arriving at night because London is a seven to nine hour flight. She hardly spoke about her parents. Sometimes I want to ask her but what if it was too personal. No matter how curious I was, I did not want to interrogate her about her family.

Before David came, I had to get blood drawn for another set of lab tests. Osteosarcoma sucks. Too many needles.

"Beckett Hill?" Said a nurse behind me.

"Yeah?"

"Follow me, please." She smiled.

"Who are you?" I stayed in place.

"I'm Doctor Rajas assistant, Emma."

I nodded my head and followed her. It probably wasn't a good idea to follow a nurse you've never seen or heard of before but it was for Doctor Raja, the supposed "devil."

"How is your day today?" She asked.

"Beckett? Where you going?" Shouted Evangeline.

"I have no idea. Blood tests, maybe?" I shouted back, entering the elevator doors.

"Well don't take long! I have to talk-"

Before she could finish, the elevator doors closed. I'll just meet up with her later.

We stood in the agonizingly silent elevator. The elevator had no music. It was going slower than usual, mostly because other people were getting on as well. Luckily we were the first to get off the elevator on level two.

"Beckett!" Said Doctor Raja with excitement.

"Hi, Doctor Raja?" I made a face. I was wondering what was the whole excitement part for.

"Come with me, we have much to discuss!" She placed her small hand on my back.

We walked into her office and sitting there was my mom, Liliana. I haven't seen my mom in a few weeks. Last time I saw her was about a month ago when she met Evangeline. She's been busy lately, with work.

"Mom?"

"Beckett!" She hugged me tightly.

"We have excellent news, Beckett." Said Doctor Raja smiling widely.

"Sit down, you're gonna wanna hear this!" Said my mom happily.

I sat in the left black chair and stayed quiet. I was still confused on what was going on. I was also really hoping they would tell me a miracle happened and I don't have cancer anymore.

"It turns out the drug trials are performing are working excellently!" Said Doctor Raja.

"Meaning?"

"You have a possible chance of surviving this!" Shouted my mom. She began squealing in happiness. I couldn't believe it. I was in literal shock. I had a possible chance surviving this. Doctor Raja and my mom wouldn't stop hugging me. Especially my mom. I was excited to share the news with Evangeline. I ran to my level. I was excited and couldn't stop smiling. The elevator doors open and the first person I see is Evangeline with a pink wig that she wasn't wearing before.

"EVANGELINE!" I shouted.

She turned over to me and I started jogging towards her. I was in front of her in less than a second. I could barely breathe. I was also tired. Drained, almost.

"You'll- never-"

"I'll never?"

"Guess- what- guess- you'll- never-" I said taking very heavy breaths.

"Okay, Beckett breathe! Your gonna give me a heart attack!" She chuckled.

"The drug trial is working!"

"That means-"

"That means I. CAN. LIVE!" I extended my arms. Jumping around. Evangeline went into shock too but the shock ended once she started jumping with me.

My excitement drained me. I ended up going to sleep an hour after I found out. David never visited me today, he had to cancel. My mom was going to spend the night with me in the hospital. Evangeline's father was almost here but I wasn't going to be able to meet him until tomorrow, mostly because I already hibernating.

I can live now.
