For a few months this crazy thing had been happening. People get bit, get this fever that burns you from the inside out, and go crazy. I'm sorry even if the world has gone to shit, I should introduce myself. My name is Mary Alexander, everyone calls me Mouse, though. I am 19 around 5'5, hip length black hair, tanned skin, my eyes are green with a burst of gold around my pupil. I am a survivor of this hell that has been happening. I went to Atlanta when everything first started, because they were broadcasting a safe place to stay, but come to find out it was overrun. Ever since i came to Atlanta, about two or three weeks ago, I have been stuck in a little Mom and Pop store.
"Fucking shit," I said as i heard the faint sound of yelling, "they're going to attract every walker in the fucking city!" I whispered to myself.
I ran to the ground floor and out onto the road, to see a small group running at me, "Go! Turn the fuck around go back inside!" A skinny looking Asian boy, who looked around 24, yelled at me. I did so and jogged back to the store, allowing them in after me.
They stood in front of me panting, "So, who are you guys?" I asked softly. He looked at me and his eyes softened when he saw how scared i really was, "I'm Rick," he stated softly, "this is Glenn, T-Dog, and this is-" he was cut off by this red neck looking guy, "Names Daryl, who the hell are you?"
I shifted uncomfortable under everyone's gaze and looked down, "I'm Mary, but my daddy used to call me Mouse." Daryl rushed me, crossbow raised pointed at my head, "Cut the shit bitch. You seen a man without a hand around?" i cowered back as he spoke to me in a harsh tone.
"Daryl stop," Rick started, "look at her, she's absolutely terrified." Daryl scoffed. "How old are you anyway? 12?'' Daryl chuckled. "I'm 19. How old are you? 48? 73?" i retorted coldly. "No, I'm-" he was cut off by the moans and groans.
"Rick, what are we gonna do with her?" the boy named Glenn asked. "She's coming with us we don't have time to argue about it," Rick said quickly, "Mar- Mouse do you know a way out of this store so we can get back to our van? We need to get back to our group." I looked around at them, "Yeah, come on, but you have to be quiet." I said eyeing Daryl.
We left quickly and quietly, and surprisingly we didnt run into any walkers. "Where the hell is the van?" Rick asked. Daryl sighed heavily, "Merle. He's gonna be takin' a shit storm back to camp." As soon as that left his mouth Rick took off heading to his camp.
------------
The sun was starting to set, and we were almost to the camp when we heard the screams. Rick threw everyone guns, except Daryl who didn't need one. I ran to help, but before i could help a walker grabbed my hair, and pulled me down to the ground. I let out scream; it climbed on me try to take a bite out of my shoulder. I held it up with my arms wondering where the fuck my gun went. My arms started to weaken and give out, but before the walker got to take a bite an arrow peirced its scull stopping inches away from my face. I lay for a minute with the walker still on me, finally the screams stopped and thats when i decided to push the walker off.
"Oh my god," I whispered lightly looking at all the bodies scattered on the ground, "I can't look." "Then don't." I looked up to see Daryl standing near me. "Tell Rick I'm sleeping that tree there," I squeaked out, pointing to the tree I'll be sleeping in. "Fine girl, but don't expect me to do this a lot for you," he snaped in a low voice. I walked away after that scared what i might get from him if i stayed much longer.
i climbed the tree no problem and found a comfy little branch. I pulled my pack off and got out my rope and secured myself to the tree so I wouldn't fall and kill myself. Today was a long day I thought to myself. Deciding sleep is better I fall into darkness filled with nightmares.
