A Minnesota man has been charge with a misdemeanor wildlife trafficking and trespassing on Indian land after shooting and killing a Bear on the Red Lake Indian reservation U.S. Attorney Erica H McDonald, announced Friday December 6th. Brett James Stamic age 40 from Brainerd will make his intinal appearance before Magistrate Judge Leo I Brisbois in U.S. District court at a later date. According to the allegations, on the evening of September 1st Stamic, who is not an enrolled member of the Red Lake Indian Reservation for the purposes of hunting a bear. Using a compound bow, Stamic shot and killed a large American Black bear near the reservations garbage dump. According to the Allegations in the formation on September 2nd Stamic posed a photographs with the bears carcass and later shared the photographs on Facebook. Charges say Stamic couldn't move the dead bear, so he tried to take its hide but failed.
