Im from District 2, but I hate the Hunger Games...... Why would someone make someone go through the pain of losing someone close to you? Like they had their whole life planed ahead but you had to ruin it. I don't understand why people in 'the career' districts have a training center. They are training to be killers. I hate everyone that goes there. My best friend went and volunteered for the Hunger Games and was killed by her boyfriend. He tried to apologize to me by telling me it was her or him. I wish it was him... I miss her, no one cared except me, not even her family. They said she was a disgrace anyway. She didn't deserve it. She was the nicest girl I know. I feel like I have to do something to avenge her. That's why I have been training outside the gates. I can shoot a bow, throw a knife, climb a tree, and I can swing a sword. She was good at all of these things so I made myself a replica of her, to show that she cannot be forgotten and I'm going to stand up to Capitol. People say I'm just chasing butterflies. But sometimes when you chase butterflies, you catch them. This year at the 74th annual Hunger Games I am going to volunteer, and I'm going to win. I don't need to go to a training center to be a fighter. I'm more of a fighter than anyone in that center. I have had to deal with me best friend get murdered by the man she loved. That is also why I don't fall in love. Love will just hurt you in the end. That's why I don't even talk to my parents anymore. I don't care for them either. They let her die and they didn't care. They knew a sponsor and could have gotten her some medicine.

I, Marie Hendricks, am going to win the 74th annual Hunger Game. And nobody is going to stop me.
