Emiliana sat at the corner of the room as she watched her cousins gear up for the battle. The room was a personal armory for them, with dark red walls lined with blades and swords of different designs and shapes. A long thick glass table was placed in the middle of the room and her cousins stood round it, each person strapping blades to the inner part of their long black coats. They were all dressed alike, black leather bodysuits that had a long zip in the front from the neck down to their mid section, black combat boots with a long black coat that was below the knee, and biker gloves. The girls had their hair in long ponytails except Rachelle, she preferred her whipping in all directions during a fight. Her eyes scanned the room and came to rest on a black haired boy who had her heartbeat in a frenzy whenever he was around her. Jake was dressed like the rest, his job would be to track the vampires within the town and leave the fighting to the much stronger vampires that were going with him but he knew he wasn't one to pass on a fight. Emiliana knew that too and she feared for his safety, more than anyone thought. She had volunteered to go with Jake's group but no one else supported the idea especially her father. Her only option was to stay and hope they got back safe.
Her view was suddenly obstructed by a figure standing in front of her. Looking up, her eyes fell on a pair of amber eyes studying her.
"You look really worried about something" Jake commented.
Emiliana licked her bottom lip and let out a sigh. "I'm- I just- I don't want anyone to get hurt." She mumbled back looking down at her feet. Jake chuckled as he took a knee in front of her and took her face in his hand, his thumb brushing her cheek. Her face leaned closer to his hand and she let out a sigh.
"The people in this room are one of the strongest vampires in the world. You should be worrying about the vampires they are going after." He laughed lightly.
Emiliana smiled. "I know."
"We'll be fine. I'll be fine."
"Promise?"
"Promise." He pecked her lips.
"Hey guys." Angela stood at the center of the table as all eyes fell on her. Marco stood beside her. They were regarded as not only the strongest among the grandchildren but also the most respected. Jake stood up and both of them walked closer to the table.
"It's 6:30, the plan is to use the darkness of the night to avoid attention from the humans. Operation full moon starts at 7. Avoid any human casualty or attention. The men are outside in the cars, we will take the cars to the outskirts of Port Orfrod to the south east then we enter Orford on foot after all the teams separate. Any questions?" Her eyes scanned the room quickly.
"Yep, one question." Luca had a wide smile on his face as he had his hand in the air.
Angela rolled her eyes. "Yes, Luca."
"What's with the name, operation full moon?" A round of chuckles went across the room. Angela put her hands to her hips and she stared pointedly at him.
"If you must really know, that's the name because tonight's a full moon. You have a problem with it?"
"Well-" he was interrupted by a glove been shoved into his mouth by Rachelle who stood beside him.
"He gets it." She said to everyone as Luca frowned at her with the glove still in his mouth.
Angela chuckled. "Move out."
They walked outside to the front of the castle where dozens of cars were lined up waiting with vampires inside them. Five cars separate from those lined outside were parked on one side with five huge vampires standing in front of them.
"We'll be riding in those" Marco gestured to the five Range Rover cars that had vampires standing in front of them. Her cousins walked to the cars except Angela who stood beside Emiliana.
"Be safe" Emiliana stood on her toes to peck Jake before he made his way to one of the cars.
"Emili" Angela turned to her and hugged her tightly. "I overheard your conversation with Jake back there. Well we all did. I just want to let you know we love you very much, you mean the world to us and we will do everything to protect you even with our lives. And I promise we all will come back to you, back home." A tear ran down Emiliana's face as Angela finished. She quickly wiped it away before smiling and hugging her cousin.
"I love you all very much too." Angela pecked her cheek before she walked to the car. As she got in all the five cars pulled away first heading to the gate while the rest followed.
