Mary's POV

I'm examining the broken compass I took, it's not pointing North. But no matter where I stand, it points in the same direction. It's weird. Suddenly I hear the donkey downstairs wail and rush downstairs. I approached her after putting the compass down and relax her. As Will enters the ship.

"Is she ok?" he asks me.

"Yes, something just spooked her" I tell him. He looks around the shop and looks at the unconscious Mr Brown.

"Right where I left you" he states smiling. :Not where I left you" he says looking at the hammer on the anvil. I spot a hat and go to touch it, but the flat of a sword blade slaps my hand. I back away into Will looking at the owner. To see the pirate.

"Thanks for the compass luv" he says pocketing it and I glare at him.

"You're the one they're hunting. The pirate" Will states pushing me behind him.

"You seem somewhat familiar. Have I threatened you before?" Jack asks him. "I know I've meet the little thief" he adds nodding me to me.

"I make a point of avoiding familiarity with pirates" Will tells him.

"Ah, well, then it would be a shame to put a black mark on your record. So, if you'll excuse me?" Jack says starting to leave. Will grabs a sword pointing it at him. "Do you think this wise, boy ? crossing blades with a pirate?" he asks Will.

"You threatened Miss Swann" Will states.

"Only a little" Jack tells him smirking. In response, Will assumes an en garde position. Jack appraises him, unhappy to see Will knows what he's doing. Jack attacks. The two men stand in one place, trading feints, thrusts and parries with lightning speed, almost impossible to follow. Will has no trouble matching Jack. Guess practicing three hours a day helped.

I lean against the bunch watching them. "You know what you?re doing. I?ll give you that. Excellent form. But how?s your footwork? If I step here..." Jack says as he steps around an imaginary circle. Will steps the other way, maintaining his relationship with Jack. "Very good, now I step again" Jack states. They step again and he sheathes his sword after it clashed with Will's blade.

He walks to the door; Will throws sword which gets stuck in the door, barring the exit. Jack tries to pull it out but is unsuccessful. I giggle smiling. "Good one Will" I tell him.

"Yes, that is a wonderful trick? Except, once again you both are between me and my way out. And now you have no weapon" Jack states. Will simply picks up a new sword from an anvil and they start to fight again.

"Ok this is getting old" I grumble as they fight among all the swords Will had made. I actually helped detail some of them.

"Who makes all of these?" Jack asks Will.

"I do! And I practice with them, three hours a day" Will answers.

"You need to find yourself a girl, mate! Or perhaps the reason you practice three hours a day is that you already found one and are otherwise incapable of wooing said strumpet. You're not a eunuch, are you?" Jack asks Will and I snort in a amusement.

"I practice three hours a day so that when I meet a pirate, I can kill it" Will tells him. Soon Will is thrown up into the rafters and cuts free a heavy sack which vaults Jack up into the rafters as well.

"Now this is interesting" I say smiling up at them as they continue to fight. I can't really see what they're doing from the ground. But they soon come back down after they both lost their swords. Jack blinds Will with sand; takes out his pistol while Will protects his eyes.

"You cheated" Will states.

"Pirate" Jack and I tell him. Suddenly we hear the soldiers trying to knock down the door. I look at myself and rush upstairs to change as Jack threatens to shoot Will. I can't have the Navy see me like this, or I'd be put in prison. I put on my robe and go to the stairs.

"What's going on?" I ask confused. The navy look up at me and I see an unconscious Jack on the floor.

"Miss Goldstein" Commodore Norrington says surprised.

"Commodore, why is the pirate here?" I ask him.

"He nearly escaped, but don't worry he's going to the brig now and will be hanged" he assures me.

"Good, we can't have pirates in Port Royal. It'll tarnish the governors name, good work" I tell him.

"Miss Goldstein, the Governor has asked you to stay the night at his manor" he tells me.

"Of course, let me get dressed and I'll go" I tell him. I return upstairs and put on a dress. I hate dresses, but I might actually be able to steal something good tonight. Then I'd have to leave Port Royal to avoid being caught as I'd be a suspect for being new to the manor.
