Rotten Salads

Chapter 3

Mark couldn't do this anymore. He needed to escape.

Reader's POV:

Life had treated Mark too unfair, after all he had gone through yet still nothing seemed to go his way. He was tired of it. He wanted it to stop. And he was going to make it stop by doing the unthinkable.

It was night out now, the moon shining brightly in the clear skies. Mark looked out to the river, his head was empty. He only wanted to do one thing. He started walking closer to the clear river, his reflection visible in the water. The moonlight hit his face. He didn't have any gleam of hope or happiness inside.

What did he do to deserve all of this? Why did everything have to go wrong for him? Was he really that bad of a person?

His head was rushing with thoughts and he couldn't take it anymore, he walked towards the river, slowly getting closer and closer. This was it. Mark was going to say goodbye, nobody would care if he was gone anyways so what was the point in living anymore?

At this point, Mark's feet were submerged in the water. But he kept on going, without stopping he was slowly reaching the deep end. The water had reached up to his chest.

"Only a little more,"  he thought to himself.

He was so close, his face barely visible, only his nose and eyes were visible. Suddenly, he stopped when he heard somebody shout, "HEY STOP!" He shot back around to see a man, wearing all black and covered with chains. An e-boy?
"WHY NOW?! WHY DO PEOPLE ONLY CARE NOW?!" Mark screamed in his mind, but he eventually stopped and was saved by the fellow. His eyes felt heavy though, he was cold too. He just wanted to sleep. It was getting too much for him. Suddenly his ears started ringing and lights started flashing. He couldn't tell what was going on, was this when he finally dies? All of a sudden, he stopped thinking.

Haechan's POV:
I was walking on the sidewalk, needed to clear my head after having an intense argument with my brother. The sky was beautiful tonight, no clouds in sight and the moon was shining brightly, the stars visible. It helped calm me down. I was enjoying the landscape since this wasn't where I would usually walk, there was a beautiful river flowing at the side. It was clear and the reflection of the stars and moon was in it. I checked my phone since there was nobody here as it was late at night. I opened tik tok and thought of maybe making a tik tok but decided against it since people may find where I am. I scanned my surroundings. There was also a guy walking towards the river, dangerously close. The trees were pretty too, a nice shade of green.

"wait.. WHAT?!"

My body started moving on its own and I started sprinting, I don't know this person but I can't just let them die! I don't know what came over me but soon I was close to the water. I screamed for them to stop and they looked at me, I could see the pain in their eyes, they looked dead on the inside. I would've said "haha same" but this wasn't the time. As they saw me, I could see fury in their eyes, I got scared for a second but since they stopped, I jumped into the water and took them back to shore. The boy didn't say anything, didn't even struggle as I pulled him back. I guess that's good? Wait, could it be...he's unconscious? WHAT DO I DO NOW?!
