People in black mourning and crying all around. Government officials, prosecutors, chief prosecutors, policemen, colleagues keeping my dad's funeral busy. Reporters outside investigating my dad's death as if they were policemen. Just to let out an article. But find no answer to my dad's death.
Two of dad's friends, also secret agents of the government, walk up to me.
They offer me a secret agent job. Telling me that my dad was a secret agent, as if I hadn't noticed. But I knew the day my mom left.
My mom left when I was in middle school. I figured that it was because my dad has been hiding the fact that he was working for the government as a secret agent- one of the most dangerous jobs. He was loyal to his job and his government, but not to us.
Although, he was indeed a good dad. He didn't forget birthdays and holidays but at times he wasn't there. At times, he couldn't give present in person. The delivery man gave it to me. I still like my dad, but he wasn't like any of my friends dads.
I hated him especially on tax paying months when he got busy investigating, digging into the accounting data of huge companies. I knew everything. I guess I realized it quickly because I'm my dad's daughter.
I expected my mom to at least show up at his funeral. I hated my mom more than I hated my dad on his busy days. She left me.
My dad's old secretary whispered into Uncle Mike and Uncle Steve's ear. I couldn't hear it. I call my dad's secret agent friends- Uncle Mike and Uncle Steve.
Then, after a silent moment. Uncle Mike said, " Your mother..."
Then he pause for a second.
He continued, "We have found your mom. She lived a small farm and now she is buried in the Reminond Seminary. She passed away three months ago."
"Did my dad know?" I asked hoping he didn't know, hoping he wouldn't make me cry anymore. I didn't have a single drop of tear left.
"We're not sure. You're dad hasn't said anything about your mother ever since last year."
"Then what did he say before last year?"
Uncle Mike and Uncle Steve both shook their head and sighed. With that they gave me a pat on the shoulder and left to talk about this case- my father's death, suspicious to them.
