The sun rose in the early morning of Friday 13th October. It was 7:15 and Daisy's alarm cloak woke her up with a start. The sun gleamed through her curtains spreading an array of light through out the room. Daisy got dressed for school and went downstairs. As she came downstairs she noticed a note on the table,it read: Early morning call from work, won't be back until 9 tonight. Tea in fridge. Stay safe. Mum X :-) A feel of sadness came over Daisy. Her dad had passed away earlier that year and her mum was always out working trying to make ends meet. Daisy often had these little notes on the table and it would always be the same thing. But Daisy couldn't do anything about it. She had a burnt piece of stale toast for breakfast and a glass of water. She then picked up her old and weathered school bag and set off to school.

Daisy would always wait outside her friend, Lauren Jenkins, house to walk to school with her. They were always early for school but Daisy had never been waiting this long. 7:45 7:55 8:05. Daisy had to go without her, when all of a sudden Sarah Jones and her gang walked past with Lauren with them. Daisy pulled Lauren a side. "What are you doing with THEM?" Asked Daisy. "Sarah, is actually really nice. I was going to the shop for some milk for my mum and she was in there and asked me to walk to her house and then walk to school with her." Replied Lauren, tripping over her own words. Daisy felt unsure about this, Sarah was one of the girls that everyone looked up to. She WAS popular. She was always nasty to Daisy and Lauren. Why had she started to be nice all of a sudden? Was it a trick? A prank? A dare? Or was she genuinely being nice. Daisy agreed to tag along and walk to school.

As they approached the school gates, Sarah told them to meet her back here and they could do something after school. Lauren agreed straight away but Daisy hesitated a little. She eventually agreed but told them that she couldn't stay for too long. Both groups went to class.

Daisy had a dreadful day! She had been teased about her bag numerous times, she had been spilt on a lunch and to make matters even worse she lost her books which meant she was given a detention. Everything was going pear-shaped.
