Eden's p.o.v
"When did we get a calendar?" Dean's voice asked as he walked into the kitchen, grabbing some coffee.
"Yesterday," I answered, looking over my shoulder to see him, "Before you two got home."
"You know we can just check the calendars on our phones, right?" Sam entered, giving me a quick kiss on the forehead and then going to the coffee machine.
"Yeah, but I want a collective calendar for all of us, plus you can remember stuff better when you write it down," I replied, neatly writing a bunch of events on the calendar.
"Garret's birthday was yesterday?" Sam questioned disbelievingly.
"That's where I was when you guys went out on that hunt yesterday morning," I explained, then grinning, "You see, this is why we need a calendar."
"We didn't get him anything," Dean sighed.
"Yes, we did," I assured, getting strange looks from the boys, "It was a new tool kit, he loved it."
"You're the best," Sam praised, Dean nodding in agreement.
"I don't understand the reason why you people celebrate birthdays," Maddy joined the conversation as he sat down, "It's just another reminder of how closely your death is assuredly approaching."
"And this is why you're not invited to my birthday party," Dean huffed, pouring out his remaining coffee.
"As if I'd show up," Maddy scoffed, then turning to Sam, "Or yours."
"What?" Sam asked, "It's not as if I'd want a demon at my birthday-"
"Finish that sentence," I interrupted, giving him a look, "I dare you."
"Oh shit," Sam cursed, remembering that I was- indeed- a demon, "Eden, you know I didn't-"
Suddenly though, Dean got a call. I sat down at the table as he furrowed his eyebrows, pulling his phone roughly out of his back pocket. He walked into the kitchen, leaving us in silence. There was a subdued look sent between Sam and I as our conversation was halted. I knew Sam and I weren't actually fighting, because Sam wouldn't ever say anything to demean me. I mean, I was his fiancé for God sake. But it was fun to act. Sam and I hadn't actually got into a fight since our last fall out when he wouldn't let me sleep in his bed.
Sam approached me, halting suddenly as Alvis let out a low growl when he got within touching distance. Maddy, Sam, and I furrowed our eyebrows at the hound- seeing as this is the first time he'd ever shown any kind of sign of aggression. I gently placed my hand on his head- rubbing between his ears.
"It's okay Alvis," I assured confusedly, leaning down and whispering so that Sam couldn't hear, "We're not in an actual fight."
"What did you say to him?" Sam asked wearily, backing up.
"Just to maul you if you got any closer," I lied menacingly, smiling as Sam gulped, "I'm just kidding, geez. You know I wouldn't go that far."
"I don't know Eden," Sam replied hesitantly, "You've been kind of moody lately."
I raised my eyebrows at him, setting down my pencil and sitting taller. He made a sort of strangled noise as he realized how much of a hole he had just dug himself into.
"I mean, I didn't, uh, that's not to say," He gave up, bowing his head, "You know I love you, right Eden?"
"Relax," I snorted, giving him a look that told him he most definitely shouldn't relax.
