"HAHAHA, it's finally time to show YOU-- No, EVERYONE my true power and capabilities!" Dan exclaimed in a maniacal and delirious manner.

Riley continues to struggle to escape the pristine, titanium, (but most importantly) fragile seat he was trapped in. Both of his arms were latched onto the armrests, while his torso locked to the seat of the chair itself. Still, powered with calorie by calorie of energy, and fueled by adrenaline, Riley continued to try to escape. He had to do it. He had to do it for him.

Dan proceeded to charge his super-weapon, which had the ability to completely disintegrate any life form that has any sort of magic connected to its soul. For years had Dan been researching magic from his own minions in the Limbo he lived in, and he finally discovered an exploit as powerful as this.

"For years I have waited for this moment, Riley, as you are the only thing standing between me and full control over any species; magic or not!" Dan yelled, still delirious but said in a way in which it seemed planned.

Meanwhile, Ella sat typing away at the computer, the source of the knowledge of exactly how much power the weapon needs to completely erase Riley from existence. Clitter Clatter, Clitter Clatter.

Clitter Clatter, Clitter Clatter. The sounds that were created from the rushing of Jay's feet as he ran on the metal flooring, almost superhuman speed, towards exactly where Riley was. Riley and Jay discovered that the division of power had created a subconscious bond between them. Jay could sense if he was getting closer or farther away from Riley at any given time.

This ability made the labyrinth that was Dan's laboratory limbo completely obsolete. Though it was filled with sounds, smells, misdirection--and misfortune, Jay was easily able to locate Riley's position within it. As he made it there, two thoughts crossed his mind.

His first thought was the second ability of having Riley's power divided. Jay was able to sense how weak or strong Riley was, at any given moment. And Jay knew that Riley had reached a point of weakness far greater than the threshold that his body could handle. Jay had to act fast.

His second thought was how he would approach the situation. Jay had two options, to either go straight for Riley or be tactful and attack within the main laboratory area, the home of Dan's super-weapon. This might mean risking Jays own life nevertheless. So weather it be from instinct, or something else, Jay chose to run straight to Riley.

Step by step he could hear the echo of the ambient sounds being emitted from the charging weapon. He could hear the robotic voice repeat the commands and updates sent directly from the computer; in this case, its charging percentage.

"Charging capacity has reached ninety-eight percent."

"Charging capacity has reached ninety-nine percent."

Jay knew that one hundred meant one hundred percent chance of game over. Though it didn't seem possible, Jay ran faster than he was before.

Riley heard and sensed Jays presence nearby. He weakly thought Jay....Please...Stop...You'll get hurt... However, this thought wasn't heard by Jay.

"Charging capacity has reached one hundred percent."

The weapon fired, spewing colours of the rainbow in a spiral like shape. At the same moment, Jay had leaped towards the fragile chair, and as if he had superhuman strength, had made the chair completely detach from the floor.

However, this left Jay in the line of fire.

A giant white explosion was met in front of the eyes of Riley, as he took what might be his one last look at the blue haired hero. Their gazes locked, and Riley could see only the eyes of the boy among the white light, whose life story was both saved and significantly impacted by his own self, had gone from a neutral expression to an expression of sorrow, but complete peace. This thought had ended when Riley could see the last of Jays eyes disintegrate, exactly the way that Dan said it would.

The explosion passed, and Riley laid within the ashes and remains of the laboratory, along with the ashes and remains of his truly, closest soulmate. For the first time has the sense of knowing where his partner has been peaceful, rather than a constant reminder throughout the days, weeks, months, and years.

Among the ashes was a blue striped hat, Riley decided to investigate. It was Jays hat. Riley had realized he had never touched or felt his hat, it was very soft and warm; like Jay's heart around him.

Riley looked inside his hat and found a receipt for an expensive and beautiful diamond ring; and etched within the seams, the phrase "It will happen one day, just you wait!" Riley had never seen such a happy and upbeat expression come from Jay. And upon reading it, had the grief hit him. Jay was gone. Forever.

Riley collapsed to the ground, sulking helplessly into the only thing he had left of Jay, the only thing to keep the best memories of his life resonating within his mind, forever.
