"it had been a long day of school. i walked home almost every day because i hated taking the public transit. i had my white earbuds plugged into my ears and my pale hands shoved into the pockets of my black hoodie. the october wind blew my dirty blonde quiff out of shape. i could barely hear the sounds of the city around me.
i was waiting to cross to the other side of the street, beside a stop sign that had been kicked down to the ground.
a black car had the turning signal on, ready to turn. i had recognized it from before. it was my neighbours, the one that lived right beside me and had the beautiful hazel-green eyes. i looked into the car and saw her singing and dancing around as she began to turn.
a light grey car came at a great velocity, turning the opposite way. there was no stop sign to stop him, there was no way to stop it. they hadn't seen each other, it was too late.
it happened before my very eyes. i felt as if it had been happening in slow-motion.
the drivers bumper hit her side, causing her head to turn to the side and the window to shatter.
