"T minus ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. Liftoff."

We landed on this pile of ice and dust to find something scientific, but what we actually found was... nothing. Nothing at all. Just emptiness out the window. All readings told us that we had landed, but how could that be if nothing was beneath us? I pulled on my headset hoping that someone could hear us from across the void. Once again, nothing. There wasn't even the crack of static to show the line was disconnected. There was just silence. Its black emptiness engulfed the ship. It seeped into my head. I felt like I was drowing in inky blackness. Like I was falling forever into an endless black pit. My partner was beginning to feel the same symptoms. We were going mad. This nothingness was killing us. Who knew? Maybe we were dead already. Maybe this was the punishment for our sins. Maybe this was our hell. An endless, dark hell.
