I woke up at 8 in the morning by the sound of chimes blowing in the wind. I slowly opened my eyes and assumed I was back at home. I must have really been dreaming about everything. But as the wind continued to blow harder, I noticed something new. The sound of the chime had a lower pitch. It didn't have that high ringing sound. Before I got up, I reach my hand around my bed and felt a familiar white chrysanthemum touch my thumb. I immediately sat up and looked around the large room and soon realized that everything that happened yesterday actually happened. He wasn't anywhere to be seen in the room even though I clearly remember falling asleep with him.
I got up cautiously and looked under the bed and behind the blinds. I peeked behind doors and into the walk-in closet. He wasn't in the room at all. I decided to get ready for the day because it was my first day at this new college I've never been too. After the little robot in the closet helped me pick my clothes, I headed downstairs and found him sitting at the dining table with utensils in both hands.
"What are you doing?" I asked as I walked towards him.
"I was waiting for you to make breakfast." He waved his fork and knife at me.
"How long were you waiting? Couldn't you have just made breakfast appear?" I walked into the kitchen and opened the fully stocked fridge.
"Not long. I'm not good at visualizing what I want to eat. So, I sat here and waited for you." He smiled.
"You're not good something? Aren't you a servant of a god? Shouldn't you be good at everything?" I took out eggs and Canadian bacon.
"Spiritual beings can have shortcomings too. We're just better at admitting it compared to humans." He laughed.
"Your idea of accepting this shortcoming is waiting for me to wake up and make breakfast for you?" I waited for the pan to heat up.
"Yep and it worked out perfectly." He came into the kitchen and watched me cook.
"You're interesting too." I put a slab of Canadian bacon on the pan.
After we had breakfast, we got ready to walk to the university. He made a backpack for himself and a shoulder bag for me with a laptop, notebook, and other school supplies. I was surprised he was able to even create modern technology. If other people knew about this, they would definitely exploit this person.
We walked to the university side by side but I mostly followed his direction because I didn't know this city at all. I thought the apartment was fairly close to the university but he got tired of walking one block and floated over to the entrance gate of the school.
The campus looked similar to mine. There were old and new buildings. Modern art sculptures filling in empty space and plenty of trees to bring shade and aesthetic to the campus. There were lots of students walking around either by themselves, in pairs, or in large groups. There were booths with club reps handing out flyers for their student organization. Professors were running around with briefcases and papers trying to get to their lectures. Some students looked lost, quite a few looked like they didn't want to be here, others looked overwhelmed, and many seemed to be excited. This atmosphere felt comforting even though I've never been here before. I guess the college experience is the same no matter what university you go to. I couldn't wait to throw myself into this new campus. I grabbed his hand and we headed over to one of the many buildings this campus had.
By lunchtime, we had visited over half of the buildings on campus. I slowly got a feel for this campus and saw all the opportunities they had to offer. This university wasn't any better or worse than my school. The academics, social atmosphere, and people were similar. I was enjoying my time here. We headed over to the student union to grab lunch. However, I quickly realized that we didn't even have money to buy anything.
