Harry's POV

"I don't understand how this happened. When father explained this to us, he said we each had one special human love. There isn't suppose to be repeats Niall! Somethings wrong." I don't know what im thinking, I'm worried. Worried for me, worried for her, worried that my raw thoughts and emotions can be groped by my brothers gift.

"You're right, Harry. It's not normal and it's why I came here. She has to be feeling something too, she has to feel somethings wrong." I can't focus on keeping my thoughts quiet from Niall anymore, too many of them are flooding in.

"There's something you should know Harry.." He sounds anxious, why is he the nervous one? I nod my head, telling him to continue.

" As i started to get older, father told me something he didn't tell you. Did you wake up feeling extremely happy today? Full? outrageously human?"

"Why are you asking?" a million thoughts are running through my head.

"its because in a way, you sort of are more human. The second you become in direct contact with your true human love, it takes a small part of their humanity and soul and transfers to you, and they are given the darkest most inhuman portion of you."

"What are you trying to say?" All I can think about is Elena.

" Well you arent the only one whos touched her, brother. It was an accident. We need to reverse it, a human can't survive with so much darkness."

"What did you do to her!"

*FLASHBACK*

Nialls POV

i sat in the diner four tables away from Elena. Her sweet chocolate eyes seem to glimmer in the diner light. Her face is soft and forgiving. I want her, i need her, but i cant hurt her. i want to hear her say my name in conversation, and i want to see her eyes sparkle as she talks about me. I want her to dance her fingertips across my hand, making every nerve in my body come alive. i need to be with her, but i cant. I'm so lost in the idea of her that for a second, i didnt notice her blood. her blood isnt important, i try to tell myself. shes your one human love. i think back to the words father told me when i was younger. the smell of their blood was how you identified if they were your true love or not. no matter how hard i tried to convince myself the blood wasnt important, i knew somewhere that the blood was everything.

I find myself staring at her, focusing on her heartbeat. the throb of her tender organ lit up my face. i listen as she inhaled and exhaled, she is breathing, and she is alive. i am so happy that she is alive. the scars on her wrist were visable, even from where i was sitting, and every so often i saw her trace them with her light, graceful touch. I pay for my meal and head out, passing her. as i take a deep inhale before passing her, trying not to smell her, i feel a soft touch on my arm. its her.

"sorry, you forgot your credit card over there," she smiles at me with her beautiful smile, the real kind, the kind that barely displays itself on her face.

"thank you," i return the smile. on the inside, my body is burning. the sensation of her touch spreads everywhere.

i suddenly snap out of it. direct contact. she touched me.
