Sherlock continues to aim his gun down at both bomb jackets as him and Moriarty keep staring at each other.
Suddenly the song, "Staying' Alive" sounds throughout the whole building. Sherlock and John look around, confused, but I keep looking at Moriarty, who has briefly closed his eyes in exasperation.
"Do you mind if I get that?" He asks.
"No, no, please. You've got the rest of your life." Sherlock says nonchalantly.
Moriarty takes his phone from his pocket and answers it.
"Hello?" He's silent as the person on the other end of the line speaks. "Yes, of course it is. What do you want?"
He looks over at us and mouths "Sorry". Sherlock sarcastically mouths back "Oh, it's fine" back at him. I see Moriarty roll his eyes as he listens to the person at the other end of the phone. He turns away from us for a moment, then spins back around to face us, his face this time full of fury. "SAY THAT AGAIN!" He shouts in the phone.
Sherlock and I both frown.
"Say that again, and know that if you're lying to me, I will find you, and I will skin you." He says into the phone venomously. He sounds the "s" in "skin" like a snake, and Sherlock briefly looks at John, then me.
"Wait." Moriarty says into the phone. He lowers the phone and starts to walk forward, I see Sherlock look at the bomb jackets. He adjusts his grip on the gun as Moriarty comes towards him. Moriarty stops at the jackets and thoughtfully looks down at the ground before looking at Sherlock.
"Sorry. Wrong way to die." Moriarty says, he looks at me.
"Oh. Did you get a better offer?" Sherlock asks casually.
Moriarty looks down at the phone, then slowly turns and begins to walk away.
"You'll be hearing from me, Sherlock." He looks round at me and winks. "Kate." He glances up towards where the snipers are. He holds up his index finger and a second later points at me. Suddenly I feel a searing pain in my side. I cry out and fall back against the pillar.
"Kate!" Sherlock cries out.
My knees give out and I fall to the floor, clutching my side with one hand, grimacing. Sherlock starts to rush forward but I take my hand from my side and hold it up, signifying for him to stop; the snipers are still aiming their weapons at us. I shake my head at him, and he stops short.
I look over at Moriarty, who smirks and turns back around, slowly walking to the door he came out of.
He raises the phone to his ear. "So if you say what you have, I will make you rich. If you don't, I'll make you into shoes."
He raises his free hand again and clicks his fingers. Immediately, all the lasers on Sherlock, John, and I vanish.
Moriarty disappears from sight as he walks through the door. When he's gone, Sherlock looks around the pool but doesn't seem to be able to see any sign of the snipers. John breathes out a sigh of relief.
The pain comes back to me, in a stronger wave this time. I grimace and clutch my side with one hand. Sherlock turns back to me.
"Kate." Sherlock says, and rushes towards me. He kneels down. "Let me see it." He says.
I don't answer, I just look down and shut my eyes tightly as another stronger wave of pain hits me. I grimace and curse under my breath. I focus on controlling my breathing.
"Let me see it." He repeats, this time with a kinder voice.
I shake my head.
"Kate." He says quietly. I open my eyes and look at him as he gently grabs my hand. He slowly takes my hand away from the wound and looks at it. He curses under his breath.
