12. Shooting Star Part 1

J'onn, Caitlin and Cisco returned to Earth-38. Their mission was far from over. They needed to find Kara to save Alex. ''But what do we do about Barry?'' Cisco asked worried. ''We'll find him'' J'onn said optimistic. But Cisco wasn't sure. It was no coincidence that both had gone missing. The Monitor was the reason all of this was happening and Cisco wanted to talk to him immediately. ''I'm going to Kara's apartment to see if I can vibe clues'' Cisco said as he left Caitlin at the DEO. They thought it was a good idea and knew he didn't need help. Cisco breached into Kara's apartment and looked around. Everything looked perfect and clean. He didn't need to search for clues because there was one person with all the answers. ''Mar Novu!'' he yelled as loud as he could. Nothing happened. He repeated himself, and again, and again. Nothing. ''Mar Novu!!!'' he yelled one last time before he gave up. He sighed and sat down on Kara's couch. He wanted everything to be alright, but he lost hope. ''Cisco Ramon'' the Monitor said suddenly. Cisco freaked out and jumped off the couch as reflex. ''Finally'' he sighed as he calmed down. ''What do you want?'' he asked and sounded grumpy. ''Where did you take Kara? And where's Barry'' he asked and almost threatened him to give an honest answer. ''There're safe for what's coming'' he said and disappeared the next second. Cisco called him back but this time he didn't return. ''What is coming?'' he asked out loud as he walked back to the DEO. They had to find Alex first, if the Monitor was right about Kara being safe.

''Did you find something, mr Ramon?'' J'onn asked the second he stepped foot in the DEO. ''I have'' he said as he walked to the center of the building. ''And?'' J'onn asked impatient as he followed him. ''I have had a little chat with the one who kidnapped her'' Cisco said to J'onn and Caitlin. They stood in a cirkle. ''He showed up in her apartment as I called for him'' Cisco started but got interrupted by J'onn. ''You said you were vibing her apartment!'' He sounded angry that he had lied, but Cisco ignored it. ''He showed up for a second and he said that Kara was safe for what is coming. Before I could ask what he meant, he disappeared'' Cisco explained. ''What could he be possibly be talking about'' Caitlin thought out loud. ''Something bad is happening, and it has to do with Flash vanishes in Crisis'' Cisco determined. ''How do you know?'' Caitlin asked and at the same time J'onn asked: ''The Flash what now?''

''Because I have seen it, when we were searching through STAR Labs for him. He will vanish at the end of this year'' Cisco confessed. ''It changed the date?'' Caitlin couldn't believe it would happen so fast, or that it was happening right now. ''Again, what are you talking about'' J'onn sighed impatient. And then Cisco and Caitlin told him everything.

Everyone had forgotten about Christmas and was ready for the New Year. The New Directions were getting ready for Nationals. It was in a few days and everyone was super excited. ''We have to practice'' Finn yelled excited. Everybody agreed. ''We'll start with our second song, because the choreography is not in sync yet'' Finn said. Everyone stood up and then... BANG! Everyone froze and didn't know what it meant. kara knew exactly what it meant. She had heard that sound a million times before. Finns face turned serious. BANG! They heard another loud sound. ''Everybody, hide!'' Finn finally said and everyone did what he said. He ran to the door and locked them, then he turned off the lights. ''Are we even sure that wer-'' but Finn cut Kitty off. Everyone was getting more scared with the second, except for Kara. ''We don't know what's out there, so stay down and quiet'' Finn warned. He grabbed Artie and put him down against the wall. ''Stay here'' he wispered as he drove the wheelchair out of sight. Everybody sat on the ground, against the wall and held their breath. Marley started crying. Jake tried to make her feel better, but that made it worse. She didn't want him near her, because of what he did. ''What's wrong?'' Kara asked calm. ''What do you think? Everyone is scared here'' Kitty said with anxiety in her voice. ''There is no back door in the kitchen... my mom is in the kitchen'' she wispered and started even crying more. She tried to keep it quiet, but failed. Finn tried to calm her down and tell her her mother will be fine, but it didn't work. BANG! More kids started crying and panicing, except for Kara. Finn tried so hard to stay calm, for the others, but he was so scared. Sam stood up and walked to the door. Finn noticed and followed him. ''Sam! Sam! Sam! Stop!'' he wispered as he grabbed his shoulder. ''What are you doing?''

''I need to go. Brittany is still in the bathroom, I need to get her'' Sam said and tried to walk away. Finn stopped him. ''You can't.''

''I have to.''

''If you leave, you put everyone here at danger. Look how scared everyone is'' Finn said angry, because he didn't know what else to feel. ''I'll go. It'll be fine'' Kara stood next to Finn. ''He has a gun! Nobody is stronger than a gun'' Finn said angry and told everyone to sit down again. ''It's him or me'' Kara said. She knew she looked younger than Finn, but she knew that she was in fact older than him. This guy was nothing compared to what she had faced in National City. ''I'm coming with'' Finn said determined. ''No, I'll be fine. I know what to do'' Kara said and before anyone could stop her, she had left. For their own safety, Finn had locked the door behind her. Kara made peace with that. She was going to stop him and then save Brittany. Kara looked to her left and to her right. The hallways were empty. She decided to go left. BANG! Another gun shot. She walked around the corner and saw movement near the cafetaria. She ran towards the kitchen to see if Millie was safe. ''Millie?'' she whispered. She heard someone breath loud, she sounded scared. Kara sneaked into the kitchen and saw her sitting on the ground. She had her eyes closed. ''Millie'' Kara whispered as she kneeled down next to her. Kara could see she was crying. ''Are you okay?'' Kara asked. Then she saw it... ''Millie!'' Kara wispered a little louder. She tried not to panic, but now it was more serious than it already was. Blood was everywhere. ''Millie!'' Kara repeated. Slowly, she opened her eyes. ''K-Kara?'' she asked and didn't understand what she did there. ''You'll be fine'' Kara said to calm her down. ''Are you sure?'' A guy with a black hoodie stood behind her. It didn't freak Kara out. She knew she was bulletproof. She just needed to protect Millie. ''What do you want?'' Kara asked. BANG! ''You wouldn't understand'' he smirked as he shot Kara. But something was wrong. He shot her in her leg. Kara didn't understand. She fell on the ground. This was not going according plan. She probably still had some kryptonite in her system. That moment Kara realized she didn't have her powers. She got used to not using them and now she didn't have them. This hurt like hell.

The shooter had left them. He knew Millie was going to bleed to death. Kara tried to stand up and help her and Millie get out of the kitchen, but Millie refused to try. ''Come on'' Kara got tears in her eyes. She didn't want to leave her like this. ''You have to go to Marley and make sure she's safe'' she got out. ''I'm not leaving without you!'' Kara said determined. ''Rebecca... please help Marley'' she wispered. She wasn't going to live for much longer. ''I can't leave you here. I couldn't live with myself and Marley will hate me'' Kara sighed and a tear dropped down her cheek. ''You have to, he can come back any second to finish his job'' she wispered, almost not understandable. Without thinking a second more, Kara walked to the toilets. It wasn't that far. ''Brittany'' Kara wispered in pain, ''it's me.'' Nothing happened and for a second it was quiet. Then a door opened and Brittany came out. Her face covered with tears. When she saw Kara's leg she freaked out. ''Are you okay?'' she got out. ''Calm down, I'll live. We need to go to the Choir Room'' Kara said as she turned around. Brittany helped her walk. BANG! Another shot. Brittany cried soft. Kara told her it was okay and she was scared too. She tried to encourage her, but she needed it more herself. Brittany knocked on the door and after a second the door opened. Sam hugged Brittany immediately and Finn helped Kara get on the ground. He took off his jacket and tied it around her leg as tight as he could. Kara looked around and saw everyone crying. She looked a little longer at Marley. she had made herself as small as possible and sat against the wall. Kitty sat next to her. ''Are you okay?'' Finn asked. Kara nodded and lied. She was far from okay. She kept thinking about Millie and how she couldn't save her. It was already too late. They needed a miracle. Somebody was pulling the door. The person realized it was locked. Everyone held their breath.

BANG!

The shooter shot in the door and it opened. This is it, Kara thought. This is how it ends.
