Having one mate was a blessing nowadays, there were so many werewolves in the world that it made finding a mate near impossible. Now that being said one mate may have been a blessing but two, that was nearly unheard of, nearly it happened once every thousand years and those mates were destined to bring all the packs together and form one mega pack and to rule above them all.

I never wanted a mate, it wasn't something I desired in life, I wanted to alpha my father's pack not be some half-wit luna like most mates to alphas were. However, since I'm the highest ranked female in the pack people literally were lining themselves outside my door to see if they could be my mate, and with the pack games coming up I knew very soon I would have to leave the pack house and face them all. The elder wolves in my pack doubt my rule and advise, which is a polite way to say they demand, that I find my mate to let him rule with me by his side, in which now means that I have to participate in the games with the other wolves and hopefully, according to the elders, I'm mated to an alpha or beta a gamma would be accepted but not respected as much as a beta or alpha would. The games are a traditional mate finding activity in which people go through multiple activities in hopes they find there mate, and for alphas it the perfect time to form alliances with other packs. The countdown till the games were 2 days and 3 hours.

"Harmony, honey the other alphas have arrived and they are eager to meet you." I sigh hearing my mother's voice through my door.

"How many have arrived?" She knew I wanted to know if they were all here or just some or most. Specifically if the pack of my nightmares were here, Black Moon the strongest pack anyone has seen in a very long time, they weren't always but three years ago the twins, Bane and Kane, rose to alpha. Twins were a rarity, a legend almost, and feared if they wanted they could take control of all packs without much of a fight.

"All of them dear, come down in five minutes and look presentable please you never know whos down there darling." She always wished I would wait to find my mate before taking over the pack, in other words we were polar opposites. I never confided in her about my mate thought, I loved her and I didn't want to cause a fight.

I got dressed in a royal blue cami, and some baby boot cut low rise jeans, I threw my long brown hair into a messy bun and without bothering the find a mirror went downstairs to the pack house living area. There were about 11 other packs other than my fathers, in those 11 only 3 alphas had found there mate, and I would be the only unmated female in the room, and yet with the aroma that filled the room I knew I wouldn't be much longer. The scent of wet sage and fresh strawberries filled my nose, mates would always put off a heavenly scent specific to each and every person. I have always loved the smell of wet sagebrush after the rain and fresh strawberries when they were ready to be consumed, some people explain the smell of chocolate or the forest it really depends on the person but it always meant the same thing. 'Mate' my wolf Calla was restless running around in circles barking over and over again at the scent of out mate. 'No Harmony, mates.' "Mates?" what did she mean mates unless...
