Chapter One

Sage’s POV:

I walked over to the double doors and walked through them, I was running late to class, damn it. I ran to the second floor Math room and threw the door open, and walked in, I stopped in my tracks. The class was huddled in the corner and two boys were standing in the middle of the room, one had brown shaggy hair and brown eyes. The other had pitch black hair with crimson red eyes. I was about to start walking away before the boy with red eyes ran over to me and shoved me in front of him. “What the-“

“Aaww Shizu-Chan let’s invite Sage-Chan to play with us~!!” The boy with black hair said loudly so the other boy would hear him.

“IIIIZZZZAAAAAAYYYYAAAAA-KKKUUUNNN!!” The other boy yelled, I think he was Shizu? I gave the blonde a sad look, he just scowled.

“Shizu-Chan wouldn’t hurt little Sage-Chan would he?” Izaya, I think, snickered. I went pale . . . the brunette was picking up a desk and aiming at us. Izaya sighed, “Well Sage-Chan I think I’ll have to leave you now.” The hands shoved me forward and I stumbled forward, I cursed and tried to regain balance.

The brown eyed boy was about to chase Izaya but then stopped and looked at me. “Sorry about that,” he sighs, “I’m Shizuo Heiwajima.” Shizuo said surprisingly calmly.

I sighed and smiled at him. “Thanks, I’m Sage Eve, I’m new to Ikebukuro.” I said while holding my hand out for Shizuo to shake, he did.

“Sorry we had to meet on these conditions, it’s nice to meet you.” Shizuo said while putting both of his hands in his pockets. I put my hands in my own coat pockets.

“Yeah, it’s nice to meet you too, Heiwajima-San.” I said while looking down at my feet, I didn’t like being the center of attention. I sighed and looked around people were going back to their usual activities.

“You can call me Shizuo, Sage-Chan.” Shizuo said with a soft smile on his face, I returned with a big smile. I looked back up at Shizuo.

“Hey who was the guy with black hair?” I asked quietly not wanting to upset Shizuo. I saw him tense up.

“That was Izaya Orihara, I wouldn’t ever get near him, and he’s bad news.” Shizuo said while cracking his knuckles. I sweat dropped hoping he wouldn’t hurt anyone . . . that bad. I heard the door open again and sweat dropped . . . my over protective older brother walked in. I cursed and walked over to an empty desk and sat, hopefully no one would notice me, someone sat down beside me, Shizuo, and I smiled.

He was kind, sadly my brother sat down in front of me and turned around. His grey hair glistened where the light was hitting it and his bright green eyes sharpened. “Sage~!! You packed?” Onii-Chan asked me, his green eyes relaxing. I shook my head and frowned.

“We just moved here, Cade why are we moving again so fast!?” I nearly yelled at him. He just gave me a shocked expression and then smiled.

“Simply, cause we don’t have enough time.” Cade said calmly while giving me a soft smile. I guess we had gotten Shizuo’s attention because he leaned forward, towards me.

“What do you mean you’re already moving?” Shizuo asked with curious brown eyes. I nodded, sadly.

“Yeah, I move a lot.” I said, monotone. I sighed and looked into Shizuo’s chocolate brown eyes. Onii-Chan coughed.

“Sage we should hurry up, I mean this is the last period of the day right?” I nodded, “and you’ll listen to me too right.” I nodded not really listening. He smirked. “You’ll always stay by my side right.” I was about to nod before Shizuo piped in.

“Oi that’s kind of annoying being the over protective brother, right?” Shizuo said in a semi annoyed semi pissed tone. I muffled a snicker and looked over at Cade, who was steaming, I muffled a laugh. I heard Shizuo snicker and Cade mumbled something under his breath.

“Well I do like to take care of my family when they can’t take care of themselves . . . very well.” Cade whispered the last part so Shizuo couldn’t hear. Shizuo sighed and the door opened again, Izaya and a boy with shaggy brown hair and glasses on walked in, Izaya smirked when he saw me I nearly chucked something at his head.

“Sage-Chan~ you haven’t met Shinra-Kun yet, have you~!?” Izaya said in a sing-songy voice, I sighed and nodded a “no”, Shizuo growled. The boy with shaggy brown hair walked over and held his hand out for me to shake, I did.

“Hello, I’m Shinra Kishitani, it’s nice to meet you.” The boy, Shinra, gave me a big smile.

I smiled back at him. “Hello, I’m Sage Eve, it’s nice to meet you Kishitani-Kun.” I took my hand back and put it back in my pocket. I didn’t like talking much. He smiled and sat in front of Shizuo, then turned around to look at me.

“It’s nice to meet you too!” He nearly yelled at me, I laughed and nodded.

“Sage, Cade early dismissal.” A teacher said to us, I sighed and got up from the seat I was sitting in, Cade did the same, and I followed him.

~~~Time Skip~~~

I sighed as I looked out of the plane window gazing at the wonderful city of Ikebukuro. I’m going back to America with Cade and a few other relativities are going for a long time. “Goodbye Ikebukuro, I’ll miss you.” I whispered to myself.
